  1. It's really worth considering the Kriega stuff.......not cheap....but really good quality. I have the US30 Tailpack....and even after my 110 mile ride in torrential rain in Wales the other week everything in the pack was bone dry......so I actually had some dry clothing to change into....
  2. Kriega tail packs? http://www.kriega.com/us-20-drybag/
  3. I think you will need to get a power supply from your bike to your I phone. With the unit in GPS mode and the screen constantly lit your l phone battery will soon be rinsed.Yeah....gotta agree with Chris here......GPS drains the phone battery like nobody's business......and a hard wired charger to the bike battery is not that expensive and fairly easy to fit.....
  4. I think you're gonna have to pull it apart again and check everything.....coz the lever should go all the way to the bar.....even if the cable has no play at all......
  5. PM sent Stu....... But.....if we could get a BBQ up there and sold Burgers and Hotdogs, etc for a couple of quid a go would anyone be interested in that?
  6. So does that mean that the lever won't come all the way to the bar?
  7. At the minute there is Bob but it could change in the next two weeks! and wont know final figures till after everyone has turned up at the rally Well....let me know if there's anything I can do to help Stu.......
  8. So....from the posts above does it look like there's gonna be a bit of a shortfall to cover the cost of the Rally? If so, what can I do to help?
  9. Sounds like the clutch may be dragging a bit......I think I'd whip the clutch cover off and just check everything is tight in there. Did you soak the new clutch plates before fitting them?......it's normally recommended to soak them in engine oil for a few hours at least....and better still, overnight......
  10. Yeah....it was good.....and nice to meet John too...... Bit of a poor turnout generally though......and weather was OK...... Had a good pillion too......didn't scream or anything......
  11. I'm not sure if I'm reading this right.....so, are you talking about the arm on the clutch cover? If that has no resistance then I think it's not engaged in the push rod correctly....so it'll need the cover off again to check.....and also make sure that the clutch basket isn't notched and the plates are sticking.....
  12. We're gonna be picking moo & ollie up from longstanton then heading for the marina if time permits or straight to Papworth if we're a bit later. Hope to see some of you guys at either/both.
  13. Cider!!.......and I hear they're having to plant more apple trees to keep up.....
  14. Now.....that did cross my mind Stu........as the next junction was a good few miles down the road......
  15. So....my nomination for Nob of the Day goes to.........The Megane driver on the M11 this morning: Heading down past Cambridge.....southbound on the M11.....and I noticed a mobile crane on the inside lane and the car transporter just in front of me in the inside lane was gaining on it quickly......I was in fairly solid traffic in the outside lane (2 lane Motorway at that point) all travelling around 60-70mph.......so I slowed a little as I could see the transporter was going to pull out......which he did. The Megane that was behind me was flashing his lights and waving his hands all over the place. Anyway....the transporter soon pulled back in because he was travelling a fair bit quicker than the crane.....and I then accelerated back up to the national speed limit ( ) and pulled into the nearside lane. So......did the Megane overtake me?.......no, because he was coming off at the next junction which was less than half a mile in front......so the impact of letting the transporter out was maybe a second or two on his journey time......COMPLETE NOB!!! Looking at the situation developing there was no way I was going to put myself alongside that transporter when he caught up with the crane.......but I guess NOB HEAD in the Megane would have been quite happy to do that......and run the risk of ending up as jam in their sandwich...... Any further nominations?
  16. A collection of what?........ I'm kinda glad that Susieque & Rennie have decided to only run the entertainment on Saturday night......be nice for them to be able to chillout on Friday night......it's bl**dy hard work entertaining a bunch of drunken bikers over an entire weekend.....especially after a hard week at work......so I nominate Susieque & Rennie to the list of guys that deserve a drink or two on us........
  17. Chris.....is it waterproof? I've been looking at these and I actually bought one that is supposed to be waterproof to IPX7.......but it's turned up and has IPX4 on the box.....which basically means it's OK for light rain showers and accidental splashing......whereas IPX7 would be ok for accidental submersion of up to 1M for 30 mins...... So....have you tried yours out in the wet mate?....and how did it fare.....
  18. About bl**dy time....... Seriously though.....congrats mate....bet you can't wait to get that bike of yours out on the road......
  19. Off Topic I know.....but I was looking at the ABBA stands again the other day....and you can now get an attachment for them to raise the front wheel off the ground too......and not the separate thing they used to sell either......
  20. Only if you can run fast enough though.......
  21. Yeah.....I think OUT is the operative word here Stu.....no promises about BACK though......
  22. I'd organise something Stu.....but for how well I know the area we could all end up at Scotch Corner!!........ (the Scotch Corner bit is an "in" joke in my family........it seemed that whenever my Grandad gave anyone any directions to get anywhere in the country it always seemed to involve going via Scotch Corner!!)
  23. Rideouts?......anyone broached the subject with TC yet.....seeing as he's back in the fold again.....
  24. You've got to try lids on to find one that fits OK........a Medium from one manufacturer could be loose....but a Large from another manufacturer could be tight...... As for wearing a balaclava under the lid.....it shouldn't affect the size too much......but you really need to find a lid that is snug, not tight......and certainly not loose...... Check this fitting guide from the SHARP website for info on getting the correct fit....... http://sharp.direct.gov.uk/node/27
  25. Yep......exactly as Stu has said.....new battery and a smart charger....they'll see you right......
