    Triumph Daytona

These bikes need a decent battery to start them......and trying to start them with a b*ggered battery can stuff the Starter Sprag clutch....which is mucho expensivo.......so my advice to him would be the leave it until he gets the new battery......
  2. Nice one Mate.......congrats......
  3. Hey Ricky....I wasn't having a pop at you mate.....and it's good that you are willing to assist other bikers.... Just that sometimes the bike won't run even with bumping it if the voltage is too low for the ignition circuit to work......
  4. If it starts while bump starting then surely that means the battery is dead? If the battery is really flat then there won't be enough voltage to get a spark from the ignition circuit.....and if the battery is sh*gged it can drag down the voltage coming out of the Reg/Rec-alternator......
  5. I think that's where I would start....and see what happens from there......
  6. Gotta say....when I read nob and b*llocks in the same post i was wondering where this was going.....
  7. Welcome to the Forum Mystic Meg........ Sounds to me like your battery is flat.......and maybe the charging circuit on the bike needs looking at.....or more likely the battery is stuffed......
  8. Todays nominations go to the numpty's who have never heard of accelerating down a slip road to join a dual carriageway...... I was always taught that you build your speed to try to match the speed of the traffic you are joining......and it's always easier to lose a bit of speed with the brakes than try to accelerate at the last minute..... So.....several times today I was joining dual carriageways and the numpty's in front pootle down the slip road....and then just pull into the path of whatever vehicles are already on there......leaving me almost stranded on the slip road......not once, but several times...... I know some comment that you shouldn't let it get to you.....but I do a lot of driving as part of my working day......and often it's these dipsticks that make the drive frankly dangerous.......the roads are far too busy for these idiots to be let loose on them.....it's that sort of driving that causes accidents......
  9. Nice one mate......congrats...... Now the FUN begins......bike chosing......
  10. Nice one Fromos.......congrats......
  11. People normally start getting to the Marina around 6 ish onwards....and then head over to Papworth sometime around 7 or slightly before......
  12. I'd always give it a minute to warm up before riding off......you don't want it stuttering or bogging down as you lean into your first corner......
  13. Well.....we live and learn...... I thought most bikes from the mid 2000's were injected to meet the emission regs......my 2003 Speed 4 and my 2005 Sprint and Speed Triple were all injected..... Anyway mate.....hopefully your question has been answered.......it don't need any choke this time of year......

    Rear Wheel

Check the slack at different points around the chain.....it's not uncommon to get tight spots on chains.....and if you tensioned it to one of the looser points it may be grinding when it hits a tight spot.....

    Rear Wheel

It's not a single sided swing arm.....so has a spindle going through the middle of the wheel.....so I'd think that it's very unlikely the wheel will fall off...... I'm not sure what that bit is....whether it's a cush drive or not.......but the scraping noise could be.....chain tension too tight?.....did you check the tension at different points on the chain?......disk brake rubbing?.....this is normal, but are you sure there's enough pad material left on the pads?.......wheel bearings?......is there any lateral play in the wheel?......ie, if you grip the wheel with one hand at the top of the wheel and the other hand at the bottom can you rock the wheel side to side? Just a couple of things to consider......
  16. I'll be there, fancy a run down to papworth as well. Good stuff, I'd been hoping to head over there afterwards. I'm up for it for sure........
  17. Yeah.....maybe it doesn't need any choke at this time of the year.......or maybe the air filter is choked and it's running rich anyway......and adding choke to it just floods the engine..... It is injected isn't it?.......would have thought a 2007/2008 bike would be......if so I'm suprised it has a manual choke?.....

    Rear Wheel

Welcome to the Forum mate......maybe head over to the newbies section and introduce yourself to everyone...... Sorry but I can't make out what it is that you think is the problem.....maybe a few more pics and a bit more explanation and we may be able to give you some advice......

    Inline Switch??

The voltage isn't really important Joe.......unless you're going the other way and trying to use a 12v switch on high voltage.....as the insulation resistance would then be important.... The current capability of the switch is important.......so, if you're trying to switch a 30A circuit with a 2A rated switch you'll be in trouble...... What about these?: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ON-OFF-Round- ... 3cce81c4fe Marine suppliers would be a good place to search mate......
  24. Can you remember that far back? Good point Matt.......at my age I have trouble remembering what I had for breakfast........
