  1. Good info Joe....... Although.....if you had a Triumph you could get into the ECU with a free program called TuneECU and apply an offset to the speedo signal to correct it for different gearing.......just saying.......
  2. Some tyres really tramline badly....even when they are not worn....... I've got Pirelli Strada's on my Sprint ST and they tramline badly.....although they are getting pretty worn now....... The Michelin Pilot Powers I have the Speed Triple are also quite worn.....but don't really tramline at all..... So, maybe the Bridgestone's don't suit the ER......
  3. Nice one mate.......but as you say £25 for a bit of plastic......but if it works, who cares......
  4. No Probs Darren.....we'll see how it goes......still hoping to get to the Marina on Tuesday but the forecast is looking a bit iffy...... Yeah....if we decide to go from Moo's place I'll let you know the postcode......but Longstanton is a piece of p*ss for you mate.....just turn left at the Earith Bridge junction...... PM sent with mobile number anyway mate......
  5. Nice one mate....glad you got it sorted.......
  6. Well....there were 3 contenders today: 1st was on the Huntingdon ring road.....he was heading across a junction which crosses the ring road.....missed the right turn and then sat across the junction to turn right around an island that was impossible for him to get round......eventually realised his folly and went straight on.....obviously after the lights had gone red...... #2.....30 seconds after #1 nob......a coffin dodger going the wrong way round the one way system.......and turned down a road that was also one....the wrong way......completely oblivious to any road signs indicating no entry....... #3.....a little further round......a lady in a Mini estate sitting at a set of lights to turn right......filter light is green giving us all the go-ahead......nope.....just sitting there staring at the green light......revving the bike did nothing....so a peep on the horn woke her from her little sleep...
  7. I can't answer for the Street Triple....but I have a Speed Triple which is quite similar..... The fly screen does deflect some of the wind....but TBH it's a naked bike.....if you want to get rid of most of the wind battering you'd be better off with a tourer...... The low fuel warning light on mine comes on between 120-150 miles......but I think it's best to try to find a garage as soon as it comes on rather than risk running out of fuel.....I've done around 35 miles on mine with the fuel light on....but I was starting to get a bit nervous...... Poor battery performance I've not heard of on the Street Triple.....but you'll probably find many of these bikes are laid up over the winter....and if you don't keep the bike on a battery conditioner you can have problems......and also the OP said that there was a factory recall to replace the Reg/Rec......so if there are bikes out there where this hasn't been done they may suffer from these probs.....
  8. You could wear the tent as your fancy dress Derek......save all that getting in and out malarky....and at the end of the evening just fall over and you're set for the night..... If you've got the tent sorted mate and you're happy with it I'll offer my spare tent to anyone who may require the loan of a 2 man tent for the weekend........
  9. Hi Darren.....yeah, we're gonna try to make it to the Marina on Tuesday...but if not, we could meet you in Longstanton on Weds and ride down from there....... Be great if you could make it down there mate.......
  10. I've put this in the Biking events section....but I guess it's more relevant here........ Royston MCC Bike show at Meldreth Manor on Weds 19th June - 6:30. We're gonna head down and maybe meet Moo enroute or pick her up form her place....but if anyone's interested in coming down there.....probs about 25-30 mins from Huntingdon down the A1198.....give us a shout...... http://www.roystonmotorcycleclub.co.uk/2013show.html
  11. Speed Triple is a Great bike.....but I'm not sure I'd recommend it as a first bike........don't get me wrong, it's a fairly docile bike at low revs.....but has a tendancy to lift the front wheel if you give it a bit of a handfull in the lower gears...... It is overall an easy bike to ride...and the riding position really suits me......but maybe a bit of time on a 600cc bike first would be beneficial.....
  12. Well........what are you waiting for?......
  13. Nice one Yammy......glad you're getting out on the new bike and enjoying it so much......
  14. We can meet you at your place Moo and head out via Dry Drayton and Cambourne....then pick up the Royston road if you'd be happier with that?.......makes no odds to us....slight detour, but more time on the bikes....... Says it starts at 6:30.....so if we're slightly later than that it don't matter.......and if you decide you're not confident riding down there on your bike you can hop on the back of the Speedie.......
  15. I've got various gloves.....but my favourites are a pair of Held Bagira's......really comfortable.......not waterproof, but good summer gloves........
  16. What route will you be taking Alan.....just so's folks can see if you're passing their way......
  17. Nice one Alan.....and glad to see you back on here again.......
  18. Charged overnight should be OK.........but, as Stu says, it depends on the charger, size of battery and how much charge is left in it to start with......
  19. Depends on the weather Moo.....but we'd like to do both....... You are more than welcome to ride pillion again.....or have us ride along with you and Ollie......whichever you'd prefer.......
  20. Damn.....Stu beat me to it again......
  21. Not charging mate.......need to check the charging rate....but I suspect the Regulator/Rectifier could be shot......need to check the voltage at the battery with the bike off....and then with the engine running......
  22. Welcome to the Forum Tinkerbell....... You're mad.......
  23. Hi Folks.....we were discussing this last Tuesday evening at the Papworth meet and thought it was fairly soon...... Next Wednesday evening 19th June 2013.....at Meldreth, near Royston, Herts. Link below with details. I think we'll try to get along.....so if anyone else is interested and wants to ride down there with us...... http://www.roystonmotorcycleclub.co.uk/2013show.html
  24. I'd disconnect the battery (for safety's sake) and remove the indicator unit from the handlebar and have a look inside to see if anything is broken.....then see where you go from there......
  25. Not cheap....but the only thing I could think of...... http://www.windingroads.co.uk/shop/prod ... connection
