  1. I had the oil cooler go on my Trophy when I had it......I bought a secondhand one from eBay and when I got it I painted all the exposed bits with Black Hammerite and sprayed the core with ACF50 before fitting it.....that was nearly 7 years ago now and it's still going strong (Bonniebird's brother bought the bike off me so we still see it....)..
  2. Also check the air filter and the air inlet.....any restrictions there can starve the engine also....
  3. If the revs aren't rising when this happens I'd dismiss the belt as the problem. My thought initially is a fouled spark plug....try changing that first before going for the carb....
  4. Philip Sayce......another guitar slinger...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqCoY-tN ... kwewiq_1yG And King King....... ">
  5. Lumb Farm Country Club, Derby Road, Marehay Ripley, Derbyshire, DE5 8JN Susieque and Rennie went and checked it out.....but I guess a search of accomodation around this postcode may throw some alternatives up if the venue is a bit expensive for B&B....
  6. There may be other places nearby too Priest......Susieque and Rennie may be able to help with info about that.....not sure how near it would be to the rally though.....

    Decat pipe

Welcome to the Motorbike Forum mate.......maybe head over to the Newbies section to introduce yourself to the forum when you get a mo..... De-cat pipes are not illegal as far as I know.....but you need to check what effect fitting one would have on the mapping on your bike. Also if you remove the pre-cat but not the main cat you can have problems with the main cat clogging. All I know is for Triumphs 1050's if you remove the pre-cat you also need to disable the Lambda sensor as it can really b*gger up the fuelling on the bike......and you need to run a de-cat map for the ECU.....

    Bent something?

But I would certainly check wheel alignment and slacken the fork yokes and retighten them. Wheel alignment is something you should be checking regularly when adjusting the chain.....

    Bent something?

BonnieBird's daughters CG125 had the forks slightly twisted in the yokes when she dropped it at low speed. As Megawatt says, loosen the clamp bolts on the yokes and bounce the front end a few times. Then as Alex says check the wheel alignment. Chances are it is just this......
  10. When you say you've checked the spark plug do you mean that you've taken it out and looked at it or have spun the motor with the plug out and checked there is a spark? Normally if you have a spark and have fuel it should run unless you've not got enough/any compression. Are the connections to the terminals of the battery good and tight? If not the starter can spin the motor but there's not enough voltage to get a decent spark....so it won't fire up. Have you tried bump starting it? Just a couple of things off the top of my head..... Use the KISS principle.....eliminate the easy stuff first....then work up to the more serious possibilities....
  11. Not sure...but I think he said in the newbies section that he has a CBR125....could be wrong though.... I think that the best course would be to check for a spark first as suggested above....then move on from there. Also check some of the more common stuff....ie, Side Stand switch, kill switch, neutral switch etc..... As a side issue my bike has a sensor and magnet mounted on the alternator for generating the signal for spark and injection timing......just thought I'd throw that one in....

    A Puzzle for you

Could be that something is loose on the fairing which is making it noisy at a certain speed. I'd go right the way around the fairing and all panels and check that they are all tight....

    A Puzzle for you

I accidentally stopped the fan on my Speed 4 when I had it.......took a fuse out and brought on the MIL light......Doh... The fan shouldn't run all the time anyway....especially this time of year......mine only comes on when I'm stuck in traffic at slow speeds....
  14. Eric Gales...... If you are into Joe Bonamassa, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, etc....check this guy out..... ">

    A Puzzle for you

What condition are your tyres? Worn tyres can cause more road noise. Also, what condition are your wheel bearings? Worn or Dry bearings could cause some noise. Also check your disks and pads......all stuff that are more related to road speed than engine speed.....

    oil dipstick

I'm sure I've read somewhere that you should check it about 5 mins after returning from a run on the bike.....don't check it when the bike hasn't been run and the engine is cold. Gotta say it's a PITA on bikes with no centre stand.....
  23. Yeah Neil....got a PM from Al the other day. If I pick you up first and then you can show me where Al lives?
  24. Damn, Colin......everyone knows what they're getting off you for Christmas now.....
