  1. Shouldn't be difficult to replace.....just need the tank off, remove the cam cover and I think they just kinda slide into place.....new cam cover gasket at the same time.....and put the whole thing back together.....simple (if you say it fast enough)....
  2. I suspect you are talking about U-shaped grommets on the end of the cam cover....but some pictures would help if you can get some and upload them....
  3. Oohhh.....that's nasty......glad you managed to get it out without having to remove the head mate..... No room for a torque wrench in there Alan?......just asking, not suggesting that the outcome would have been any different.....
  4. Nice one Mike.......great blog mate...... I fancy a run up North....been over the border a number of times....but always with work, so never got to see anything much..... Gotta be on my list of things to do......
  5. I think you are talking about velocity stacks. ...a trumpet shaped metal device.....sometimes with a mesh grille across the end. Doesn't filter the air at all......so not very practical for a road bike.... was popular with old race bikes.....that needed an engine rebuild after every race....lol.
  6. As it's just been serviced I'd take it back to the garage to get them to sort it out......

    Hi all

Welcome to the Forum mate........ Shame about the exhaust....but as others have said you can get a replacement clamp of eBay or contact the seller. Which stand are you talking about.....Side stand or centre stand? A lot of replacement exhausts don't fit well with centre stands....always best to check before buying. I'm sure if you contact Blue Flame they'll sort something out for you.....don't cost anything to ask.....
  8. Nice one mate........hope we get a few nice days so you can get out on the Honda before the nasty weather sets in.....
  9. I stand corrected.......didn't have any of this stuff when I did my test.....nice and simple....any bike up to 250cc on L-plates...then any bike once you passed your test.....
  10. Direct Access courses (DAS) are specifically to get your full license......which, given your age, would mean you could ride an unrestricted bike after passing. The test has to be taken on a 500cc or bigger bike to qualify I think....
  11. Glad you're reasonably OK.....decent kit is definitely worth the investment..... I'm sure you can get the bike back looking pretty decent.......may just take a bit of searching for parts....... So....what happened?......6-hours?....I'm guessing unfamiliar bike and a touch too much enthusiasm....
  12. Good Luck......so long as you keep calm and ride sensibly you'll be OK......
  13. Bad luck mate....hope you didn't get hurt......bikes can be fixed or replaced..... As Megawatt says....remove the stator cover and have a look around and remove any stray bits of metal in there.....any metal shouldn't make it any further into the engine as there's a seal between the crankcase and the Rotor....so the metal would be contained in that area. Check the windings on the Stator to make sure none of them are damaged. Should be OK. Maybe a set of crash bungs when you get the bike back roadworthy.....
  14. Yeah....was a great ride there and back (thanks to Neil for getting us over there.....nice route). Nice to see all the folks that made it over there.....some familiar faces and some new.... Sorry to Neil and Dave for the strange route back......I had absolutely no idea where I was going.... Glad those that we've heard from got back OK....and hopefully the others also got back safely....
  15. We're not a scary bunch......so don't be worried about coming over to us.....and if we spot you on your own you won't be for long.....
  16. Looks like it could be OK.....so we're looking forward to seeing you all there......
  17. Sorry Mick....we're coming from the opposite direction.......but check out with TC and Stu which route they are taking as they may be passing near by you.....so you could hook up with them..... Neil must have splashed out on a computer as I've never seen him on the Forum at the weekend before...
  18. Texted NMan and He'll meet us at Hartford Marina (PE28 2AA) around 11:30. He was texting GOG as well....so if anyone else wants to meet up here. Or we could also make a brief stop off at Peterborough Services if anyone wants to join up with us from there? Let us know....

I'm with megawatt here, start with simple stuff like new bulb, then look elsewhere if that don't work. KISS!
  20. Good Luck tomorrow with the Theory mate.....hope it all goes OK......
  21. Yeah.....another lesson inbetween will certainly not hurt....and failing to cancel indicators and road positioning could fail you....so a bit more practice would certainly help IMHO.....
  22. Oh come on Alan....read the whole Haynes manual?.....only if suffering with insomnia..... Normally the front section covers routine servicing, like oil change, plug change etc....so maybe read that bit..... I'd say that a socket set, decent allen keys and screwdriver set and a Torque wrench are your best starting point as far as tools go.....Haynes are quite good at describing how to make something up to avoid buying the "official" tool for some jobs....but there are often other ways round this too.... Plenty of help available on here....so shout out when you need it....
  23. Dunno about maps of Cyprus...but I use CoPilot on my Galaxy S3 and it works really well.....I use it in the car all the time......play music on it through the car system too....and use hands-free.....basically everything in 1 package.....
  24. Sorry about letting you guys down..... Santa Pod tickets are £10 for the day.....
