I mentioned one of my colleagues in Goat's Phobias thread......Frank, the ex Para who's afraid of heights. Frank is about 5'6" tall and about the same wide, and it's difficult to tell where his neck ends and his shaved head starts.... He's not a young man any more, but a couple of years ago he was confronted by a mugger in London, so Frank looked the mugger in the eye and said in his South London drawl "Do I look like a f*ckin victim to you?"..... The mugger ran away..... When he first joined our company one of my other colleagues visited a customer that Frank had been to a week or two earlier. The customer said to my other colleague " We met your new engineer, Frank, the other week......We didn't know whether we should throw a net over him or just run away!" Frank is a lovely old fella.....but I suspect it's best not to get on the wrong side of him.... Anyway.....I'm sure some of you have stories about some of the characters you've met or still know?......

I have a colleague who lives on the south coast, but if he's asked to go to a job in Essex he won't come back over the bridge at Dartford because he's scared of heights..........The laugh is, he used to be a Para!......

Sorry mate, just seen this. Yeah, I know the weather has changed a bit, but I think it best that we run with it as it is.....otherwise people will turn up on the original day if they've not been able to get onto the forum and seen the change. The weather will improve (hopefully ) so I'll arrange another meet for a Saturday for those that I know can't make Sundays. Not sure when that'll be yet.....waiting for [mention]Stu[/mention] to put down his paint brush and let me know when he's next available. ....

Well.....It looks like Su at Hungry Hogs won't be opening this Sunday......so I suggest we decamp to Wellies Coffee Shop Lyndon Road | Manton, Oakham LE15 8RN,.....which is within a small nursery/ garden centre approx 4 miles from Hungry Hogs..... Seems to have good reviews, but is not specifically a "biker" place......but will hopefully be ok. Sorry for the last minute change.....

I'll check with Sue.....but I'm pretty sure she's started opening on Sundays again.....

Unless the coils have burnt out it's likely that it's just dirty or brushes are sticking or worn out, as SlowBusa says.......easy fix......

A poor battery will knacker the sprag clutch on Triumphs......then you're looking at big money to repair it........which is why I keep my battery on an optimate over the winter......

Hi everyone......weather for the 14th and 15th April is looking ok at the moment.....so would anyone be interested in having a little meet up at Wellies Coffee Shop Lyndon Road | Manton, Oakham LE15 8RN,on either of those days? The location: Wellies Coffee ShopLyndon Road | Manton, Oakham LE15 8RN,, Please indicate your preferred day and we'll try to accommodate the majority as inevitably there will be some that can only make one day or the other.......or we could do both days and folks can come along to whichever suits? We normally aim to meet around 12:00 - 12:30.....but, again, it's not cast in stone. We don't normally arrange a rideout from there, as some folks will have already had a fair distance to get there and back, but if anyone fancies organising a rideout for those who would be interested, post up and see if there's enough interest.

From what you describe it sounds like the HT Lead or Plug Cap......try screwing the plug cap into the HT Lead if it's not a moulded one.....

Quite often when you buy stuff online it comes from shops like them......For instance, we've got a music shop in our local town that has a really impressive range of high-end guitars and other instruments which I'm certain they wouldn't be able to stock if they didn't have their online store.....
