It will do that with no load ......If you put very slight pressure on the rear brake you'll probably find it doesn't do that.......also remember that there'll be more slack in the chain with no weight on the rear suspension. .....

Have a look on eBay for secondhand leathers....quite often find decent gear getting sold at this time of year because guys get their bikes out as the weather improves and then find that the leathers they bought last year no longer fit!....

Just get used to the range of the bike before the low fuel warning comes on........I've got a Bonneville that warns me when my fuel is getting low.....

I think you need to demand a refund as the bike they sold you is clearly not fit for purpose. ....

How much fuel is in your tank?.......where was the bike stored?........It could be that the spark plug has fouled after the initial start.......also, is there any chance that some water has got into your tank? Water is heavier than fuel, so it will go to the bottom of the tank and can then get pulled into the fuel system. Rereading your description, someone mentioned the fuel tap (if it has one).......check that is working ok.....

Bad luck on the fail, fella.......but at least you know you can do it......better luck next time.......

Not checked for 2 years..... I'd invest in a footpump and a little digital pressure gauge rather than use filling station air lines......and check the pressures before every ride.....or at least weekly.....

Hi. The part seems to be a "Heater Assembly" according to a schematic I found on-line. Its made of brass and screws into the underside of the carb ( there is one on each carb ) and has an electrical connector attached to the bottom of it. This has broken off on the left hand side carb but there is no petrol leaking from it. I assume it is to monitor the heat of the carb ???. I really dont know. Anyway, Im ordering a new one and will replace it when it and the new brake lever arrive. Off to Isle of Man on Sunday for a funeral so will have to wait. Thanks for the reply. Mark. Ah.....ok......it'll be the carb heater then, to try to stop the carbs icing up in cooler weather.......yeah, shouldn't cause the carb to leak.....
