I don't think you'll get far with the lever......it'll fail if it hasn't got the ball on the end......safety and all that...... I'm guessing that the other thing is the petrol overflow pipe, which takes any overflow and drops it below the bike, rather than on a hot engine?.... Neither failure sounds like it would take much to fix......so I'd just correct them and represent the bike for its mot......

I’m only 56 ... been diagnosed with an enlarged prostrate - non cancerous (phew) on tabs so I don’t shit myself when I pee - # Tango - hope it’s not a Speedtriple thing Mickly If you've been through the same tests as me, you have my sympathy........Some of them are particularly unpleasant........but the relief when you hear that it's not cancerous certainly negates the unpleasantness of them! I don't think it's a Speed Triple thing mate.......probably more hereditary. .....

I did mine with Cambridgeshire police too........but they did the classroom bit in one hit on a Saturday in the Huntingdon headquarters. ......then an observed ride a few weeks later...... I have a theory.......when they go round the back of the bike to take down the Reg number I'm sure they also check out the chicken strips, and taylor the ride pace accordingly. ......my guy didn't hang around, but someone else who went out at the same time with another police rider had a slightly more sedate pace......

Is it carb or fuel injected? ........If injected, can you hear the fuel pump priming?

Do the electrics die?......loose connection on the starter solenoid?.....loose battery terminal?

Is that item #5 on this drawing?.....This should stop the 2 bits coming together.......If you forced the hub on, could you have damaged it or one of the bearings?

There should be a small gap between the brake plate and the drum.....that looks like it's rammed hard together......is there another spacer that goes inside the drum or on the brake plate that stops the two binding?

Sounds like some wiring shorting to the frame or engine......Unfortunately, if it is that, it'll take some finding......

Given A instead of A2 licence...problem?

Would your training school even put you in for the A2 test if you were 24?.......The test and everything else is the same, except for the cc and power output of the bike you take the test on......even if you started out doing the A2 training..... -
The 2 tubes......One will be the fuel overflow for overfilling the tank......The other is likely to be the tank vent or breather.......Both should be clear.....

Welcome to TMBF mate. ......... I'm not sure how they would check back......If your license says A and has the pass date alongside, then effectively you've got the full license......and now that you're 25 even if you had an accident I'm not sure that it would be looked at that closely........but, I'm not saying that you carry on with your plan.....that's a decision that only you can make..... -

Never try to jump start a bike from a running car, there's too many amps available and can cook things in the bike electrics....... I'd unplug the Regulator/Rectifier and try another fuse.....just in case it's the Reg/Rec that's cooked.....
