  1. Gonna get a Shoei Multitech myself. Seem like a good idea!! Lets have some pics then!!!
  2. Great day everyone!!! Met up with Jade and his better half, had some chips then a quick blast out. Back into Matlock and met up with TC. We shot of to CMC's in Chesterfield then back home again..... 140+ miles..... Great day!!
  3. Just purchased one (On Dan's recommendation) and it should arrive next week. http://bikergear.co.uk/imagemagic.php?img=images/motrax2604200834%20Apr.%2026.jpg For those that don't know..... It cleans chains!!
  4. Parking enforcement is mainly in the Fish Pond Car Park. Don't know about down the road though... Will try and be around at 12 as well, although I suspect it's gonna be a nightmare..
  5. Looks good mate. I wear a thin cotton balaclava under my lid due to big ears which rub on my lid... Could solve the folding over problem if it starts to give you grief... I use simple foam disposable plugs. When put in CORRECTLY they block out a lot of noise, but not all. They block out the wind noise which is what does the most damage to your ears. Glad the Helmet Guide helped out mate!!
  6. Might well be around mate!! Would recommend not bothering stopping in Matlock though... They are being silly with the rules about parking. How about going to CMC's in Chesterfield, or the bike shop in Clay Cross... Both serve food.
  7. I got something right!! Mark it on the calendar!!!
  8. 1 Helmet 2 Back protector 3 Gloves (armoured) 4 Boots (motorcycle) 5 Extra armour (chest and new inserts for elbows etc) 6 Jacket (armoured, leather or textile) Trousers (armoured, leathers or textile) Helmet... Obvious.. Your brain is in there... Plus I am ugly enough without half my face scrapped away!! Back Protector... Downer if you have an accident and your head is ok, but because your spine snapped in the wrong place your brain can't send signals to your body to make it move. Gloves... As said, normally the first thing to hit the ground is your hands. Boots... As said, ankles bend the wrong way far too easily.. Extra armour... Important to help you walk away although ribs, elbows and shoulders fix fairly well when broken. Jacket & Trousers... Again important, although Road Rash is very rarely a killer Seriously considering upgrading my thigh and pelvis protection. A broken pelvis can be very very dangerous!!
  9. The TT one is probably thinner and more prone to smashing... Big stone, smashed visor, plastic in eyeball!! Get the Shoei one mate... Great quality.
  10. One thing mate...... Dark, Irridium, mirrored visors are NOT street legal.... Get a visor bag and always carry your clear one around with you. It's a good bargaining tool should a cop pull you about it. Most are ok though as long as you ain't dumb enough to use them in bad weather or the dark.
  11. Possible to swap em mate, but removal and insert are a time when a visor can easily be broken. Plus the pinlock has a film on the inside which helps with the misting.... Would be better to get one for both visors.....
  12. Same here mate.... Just top notch service, and nice to see they are happy to correct their mistakes...
  13. I have heard about people not misting up in summer... Mine does though. Guess that must just be me though!! True, iridium gets damaged very easily. Thankfully not scratched mine yet and it's been about 8 months since I got it!!
  14. Or a iridium visor. I think they look awesome!!!
  15. Contact Sidi... Some companies will get it sorted purely to hold up their rep... Failing that go to the company you purchased them from. They might be able to help..
  16. Oh, that's dangerous!!!
  17. Up to you mate, but if you just get the pinlock the sun will beam round the sides and still get in your eyes... Best go for the whole visor with a clear pinlock to stop misting. Go here and you will be able to find the one you want. Reasonable price, and I have never had or never heard of a problem with their service or products. http://www.racevisors.co.uk/ See... Even Phil recommends em!!
  18. £195!!!! Shocking price!!

    Wax or Oil

I "Think" that the wax stands up to water a lot better.... Could be wrong though.
  20. 2nd time I have referred to Ride Magazine tonight, but they came out top on their Goretex glove selection. Considered a pair myself but, same as you, I was put off by the price. Maybe towards the end of the year..

    Wax or Oil

Guess so Stu... Kinda interested myself, although if my memory serves me correct they both have positives and negatives...
  22. Ride Magazine (Who have not steered me wrong with their great testing) recommend the Kriega R25 from http://www.kriega.com Equal first was the Ogio No Drag from http://www.ultimatepursuits.co.uk Third was the Knox Six Pack... Google this one!! Drop in to Newbies and say hello!!
  23. Always tool fully up... Can't even imagine riding without my back protector now... Would feel wrong for me..
  24. Cheap Car Sat Nav (£100).... Plastic clear bag (Box of 50 for £2) I am looking at getting a TomTom Classic with Europe maps and just keeping it under my seat. Bring it out when I need it... Or might get the TomTom Rider.... £350 though!!!
  25. I guess a padlock would be secure, although it would only secure the cover... Window... I am thinking if you leave it parked on the road you could position the window so the reflector is visible to traffic... Total guess though.
