  1. right ok thnx stu, looking at the pic again now and the material stiching on the wrist should've been a big hint I'll keep looking for that good pair of winter gloves then...
  2. How warm/waterproof are these gloves? Would you recommend them for winter?
  3. The corpse of Mother Theresa? Really? And to be frank, I think the rigmarole of formal introductions was excessive (unless that was you being gentlemanly and saying thank you afters) what with her deadness and all. See, I did it with Clare Grogan's best friend's sister. Admittedly that was a long time ago but I reckon it's more brag-worthy than a decomposing bint. Horses for courses I guess. If i was born in 1988 and Mother theresea died in 1997, i think that gave me a fair window of opportunity.... smart arse (the details: i was a primary school she came over, have no idea why, i was lined up and told shake her hand when she comes to greet you, so thats what i did)
  4. Truly an amazing bragging right! I shook hands with Mother Theresa. I got laid last night... (Becasue thats what men really want to brag about)
  5. bakes Just wondering, what is a rear hugger?
  6. RWC can't wait gonna be epic.... has anyone yet considered the mayhem it is gonna cause for friday/saturday pub times! With some amtches as early as 5-6am i can see some excellent all-nighters coming the way of rugby fans! And to who mentioned it earlier NZ will bottle it! they even just bottled the tri-nations, getting trounced in their last game!
  7. I noticed the George white sale for £99 but sadly not my size... anyhow got a pair of competizone earlier this week, but sadly the 12 didnt fit, which is odd as the 12 of the TCX S sport did fit.. but there u go... So since i cant justify spendin £190 on a pair my size (the 12's were £105) i think i may go for the Sidi fusion boots, as i have heard good things about them, plus the £30 less means i can spend abit more elsewhere! and if im really lucky i may get a discount with some good old fashioned shop batering.
  8. Your humor knows no bounds!!! I may have just misunderstood the posts... But to the original question, does anyone own a pair of these or the TCX SS range... are they any good/warm?
  9. I had no intention of spending the £200 - the pair im looking at are going for £105 (£80 off - cant complain there) and given they have all the ankle protection jazz etc i thought they might be a good idea... saw a pair in real, and they are not as garish as the photo makes out, so not to in your face when i walk into the office. at least i hope not... http://www.atm-motocykle.pl/data/gfx/pictures/medium/1/8/81_1.jpg not sure why the skepticism from you guys? I'm not knowledgeable in this so if i could be enlightened as to why this is a stupid buy it would be helpful?
  10. I've been shopping around for some boots, and these seem to be hitting the top of my list atm... sadly i camnt afford the goretex one.. £200+ is abit over budget... so im thinking of getting the non-waterproof ones... however they say they are airtech... this is great for warm weather but will my feet get cold when the wonderous british winter hits... i will use these everyday for commuting so its quite important... anyone have any inside info on the matter? thnx
  11. From past experience working with plastics (not plastics bike fairings specifically), you gonna have a hard/fiddly time just drilling through the plastic without cracking it especially if the surface is flat and you cant clamp it down. Though if you do start with a small pilot hole e.g 2mm then work your way up in small intervals until the needed size that should make things more manageable. and yes washers on both sides of the whole would be good. also the nuts I'd either put two nuts on the bolt or use one with a plastic washer built in (their exact name escapes me) that the nut thread can cut into so it tightens and won't come loose from vibration. However i wouldn't be surprised if its made from ABS and so nice and tough therefore less likely to crack. All in all the word 'bait' comes to mind! Edited to sort my grammer out
  12. I expected nothing more than a massive distance between your good self and this event I know im new and you guys clearly have background in these matters, but surely a protest like this is actually not about the EU's effort to prolong life, but rather the right of a biker to choose whether he/she does or does not need these extra safety features, we each have brains thus should be allowed to use them. thats my two sense, couldnt resist chiming in on these matters... I have a particular loathing for large portions of the EU especially the legislative side of it.
  13. brill, cheers for all the info guys, i can now make a slightly more informed choice on this one... much appreciated.
  14. Ok, So it seems change at work is going to be the wisest option. @Bodica thanks for fitting advice ill keep that in mind and ill check out some of the bits u suggested @Susieque, i have budget for one set to start with, but ill be sure to expand... afterall i do want me a set of leathers! Anyhow cheers guys for the rapid response, question answered.
  15. Hi I'm about to get my first bike and gear to go with it. So im in need of a top tip... I'll be using my bike for a 15-20min commute mon-fri, however i have to wear a suit everyday for work and im wondering whether its feasible to imagine that i can wear my suit under a full set of leathers espcially for those wet days given the wonderful UK weather. i can probably get away without the suit jacket but that still leaves me with the trousers to consider? What would be the best way to approach this? Preferably id like to get leather protective clothing. however im open to textile if its simply not gonna work with a leather solution. thanks
