  1. Just been told off at the tip for trying to get rid of too much old oil

I've been lazy and have amassed a bit of a collection, some half used bottles have probably been in garage 4 or 5 years at least

As I was pouring out the 3rd bottle a guy came up to me saying you do know you are only allowed to empty out 5 litres? I said No, I figured there would be a limit but didn't expect it to be that low!! Chatted to him a bit about what it all was and he let me go ahead but said in future only 5 litres!!

Not too bothered really but I did think to myself that wouldn't even cover an oil change for a lot of cars now. My wife's Qashqai takes 5.5 litres.

  2. This bike is sold in other parts of the world as a Znen F11. I found this answer on a forum asking the same question

Turn the scooter on, then press and hold the "SET" button on the display for 1 sec, then turn the scooter off (with the key). Turn the scooter on again. It should be set to kph/mph. If it's not, keep repeating the process until it is, it doesn't always work instantly. If I'm not mistaken, the display also has to be on either "trip" or "odo" mode. Forgot which one, try it. =D

  3. Hello and welcome to the forum. I've translated your post into English as this forum is predominantly UK based :thumb:

Not quite sure what the problem could be but sounds like something is wrong for sure!

Is it a digital fuel gauge or an older style analogue type? Just wondering if it's something wrong with the electrics as that's common with Chinese bikes!

  4. @Steve_M I remember being told a story (pretty sure it was a forum member) about someone who was riding on the motorway when he saw a police car up ahead. Stuck behind it for ages doing exactly 70, he got fed up and decided to overtake.

He slowly started going past probably doing no more than 73, when he got level with the drivers side he looked over and saw the copper looking back at him with a grin on his face wagging his finger and then pointed for him to get his arse back behind the car

  5. A pretty common failure for chinese scoots/motorbikes.  I've had to fix a few for friends or similar and it's usually electric related rather than anything to do with the engine.

Melted headlight connectors was the last one I had to do!

  6. New ebay bargain.     Makita 18v Impact Wrench. Sold as spares or repairs, buyer said it just stopped working. Thought if I get it for less than £20 even if I can't fix it I'll be able to resell and it'll give me an excuse to hide in shed

It's definitely had a hard life, no oil or grease on it just lots of dirt and dust so guessing it belonged to a scaffolder or similar rather than a mechanic. Took it apart and first thing I noticed was this broken fuse....

Put a new one in and it's a runner!!

Wife has told me to quit while I'm ahead, well I think her exact words were to stop wasting our money on broken crap we don't need
