  1. Hi all, I have literally screwed the wrong way my oil drain plug. Changing the oil today I have tried to unscrew the 14mm oil drain plug the wrong way. It was not working. Duh... I've got pissed off and got my 1m breaker bar. It worked to a point. The drain plug was turning but not getting out. I've got under my bike and then realised I am doing that the wrong way! Realising that I unscrewed the plug. The part of the bolt near to the head was totally f**ked. I have ordered new drain plug bolt. Drain plug bolt goes into STRAINER COVER. I seriously don't want to spent £250 for new STRAINER COVER at this moment. Bike is Yamaha MT09 2014. Question: is it good idea to try to screw the new bolt and also to use some kind of lock thread or even red engine gasket silicone in order to have that fixed until the next oil change. When I will replace the cover too. Give me your quick and dirty fix people? Yay or nay? What can go wrong except f**king my engine too? I am really lazy people and do not want to remove the strainer cover in order to check the thread and do that properly. Or maybe I should do that? The problem is removing cover means new gasket there. Really hate to fix bike and not ride it. Honestly. I have MOT booked for next Monday. #4 is the drain plug, #3 is the oil strainer cover:
  2. That is myth coming from car engines. Motorcycle engines are designed to work hard. Ride the way you like. The fact is Fazer wants to be ridden in higher revs because of other reasons - power band and the nice sound. Means I prefer 1st gear in 20 mph then 3rd gear when slowing down for two reasons the engine stopping power is better and the IL4 screaming sound of "incoming" makes me feel great
  3. [strikeout]Find in good condition old model Fazer FZS600 foxeye. Made 2001-2003.[/strikeout] Congrats the best bike ever! I wish I never sold mine The bike is build like a tank. The only issue is check front sprocket nut, the original one has a defect. Details here: http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,17673.msg204038.html
  4. I have test rode Tripple and MT09 and bought MT09. It's personal but Yamaha MT-09 in throttle-mode-A would leave the Street Triple for dead in the lower gears. MT means master of torque which helps a lot when overtaking. Tripple builds power only in very high revs. To say that is inconvenient is understatement. Z900 is just boring as a new Honda. Welcome and good luck
  5. As stated. Post only genuine Brexit letters here. Let's document making UK great again. They don't built TVs in the UK like they used anymore:
  6. +1 for the TMBF worst poll ever.
  7. Just get a sidecar mate and googles for the dog Here is one for your bike: https://www.morebikes.co.uk/5894/new-watsonian-sidecar-outfit-triumph-trophy/
  8. Track road rage WTAF? What a massive **** is Romano Fenati and he got ONLY 2 races ban for that BS? Seriously? I thought he should have removed for the whole season...and probably sacked by the team. What do you think? ">
  9. It's fine to change bike if you are not feeling comfty on it. Try test ride few more bikes though. For your confidence steering and how the bike reacts are more important then gears. I'd recomend to test ride Yamaha NT09 Tracer and XSR 900 then you decide.
  10. Hello all, Problems with my MT09. Usually I do Premium Unleaded (95 RON). I do have noticed that when the bike sits few days in the garage and the tank is say half full when I start the bike and go there are sputters, judders and all kinds of unpleasantries. Than when I fill the tank full the bike runs very smooth. Do I need to use Super Unleaded (97/98 RON) or some Premium Fuels – e.g. Shell V-Power, BP Ultimate 99RON ? Or I may need to buy some injector cleaner? Ideas?
  11. Happy new bike day Moto Guzzi Nevada is great bike have fun
  12. There are dual packs to have comunication between bikes. I assume you need a single pack to receive a phone calls from your wife. In that case you need a single device. Interphone is good quality brand with many RiDE awards and it is the best value for money IMO for just £108. It has VOICE RESPONSE: Where a phone call is received, it is possible to answer the call with a simple voice command. https://bykebitz.co.uk/motorcycle-intercoms/interphone-urban-bluetooth-intercom-single-pack.html user manual here: http://www.interphone.com/documents/10244/47927/USER_MANUAL_URBAN_EN.pdf/c3847969-e732-459b-a590-4ee4b2b0fc9a In case you decide you need twin pack so that you can comunicate with your wife whilst both out riding, get this one: Interphone Urban Bluetooth Intercom Twin Pack https://bykebitz.co.uk/motorcycle-intercoms/interphone-urban-bluetooth-intercom-twin-pack.html
  13. As the title say, I am starting the thread with desperate and hilarious Boris after May's interview with Pax, I can't stop laughing http://giphy.com/gifs/boris-after-theresa-mays-interview-IIiB7XGCqETza You can find zillion of these under #TheresaMayGIFs tag ere: https://twitter.com/hashtag/TheresaMayGIFs
  14. I have no idea, but we can do that do we? I live in Bracknell. So if anybody is up to check the Bushe cafe say on 30th I am fine with that
  15. This photo is from the Highway Code and she is overtaking. What is to stop her from claiming she was filtering past the slow moving cyclist and so it was OK for her to pull out into the face of oncoming traffic causing to slow down or move over to give that extra bit of room? I agree with you but as I have said completely irrelevant to the discussion. We are discussing BFG filtering. On the video he is filtering. Not overtaking. It maybe be little risky for somebody, but perfectly 100% legal. In no point he is in the opposite lane or forcing somebody to swerve. Here are the facts: "> He is doing exactly what Highway code say: http://i.imgur.com/VR6wnsr.jpg http://i.imgur.com/nk7AOct.jpg http://i.imgur.com/UtKH7Sz.jpg As you can see he is staying in his lane and not in the opposite lane, no forcing the oposite traffic to swerve, hence this is filtering not overtaking. Hence you comments are not relevant Unless you mean some other moment in the video. Which has been cut out by BFG. Like at 1:22 He is clever enough not to post public videos that may incriminate himself on the Interweb. The moral of the story - if you ride like a dick have a decency not to post it on youtube
  16. It is the other way around. It does not say it is allowed for cars. And there is a rule the explicitely say to keep inside lanes on mutilane road: Rule 131 Lane dividers. These are short, broken white lines which are used on wide carriageways to divide them into lanes. You should keep between them. On a single lane two way road it say you can cross only if you obertake: Rule 127 A broken white line. This marks the centre of the road. When this line lengthens and the gaps shorten, it means that there is a hazard ahead. Do not cross it unless you can see the road is clear and wish to overtake or turn off. There are physical limitations. Cars cannot filter between lanes because cars cannot fit in the space between lanes.
  17. It is perfectly fine and this is not overtaking - it is called filtering and it is legal Also the camera does not show the actual thing, the perspective is distorted. Having said that it is up to your abilities how you do that. Means if you potato yourself under a bus it is your fault If you plan to ride like that in London make sure you have a loud can.
  18. Actually you are completely wrong. This was not overtaking given the fact there was a queue. It is called filtering and it completely legal It is up to you to decide how much risk you want to take. Personally I would have slowed down a bit to have the bus passing by before I do the filtering at 01:15. There is no official definition, but since he was passing stationary vehicles on the offside and over the centre line causing others to have to move to let him pass, that is overtaking according to the Highway Code. I have highlighted the part in bold. You are citing rule 167 which is for overtaking. As I have said not relevant at all to filtering and he is doing filtering. There is oficial definition for filtering: Rule 88 Manoeuvring. You should be aware of what is behind and to the sides before manoeuvring. Look behind you; use mirrors if they are fitted. When in traffic queues look out for pedestrians crossing between vehicles and vehicles emerging from junctions or changing lanes. Position yourself so that drivers in front can see you in their mirrors. Additionally, when filtering in slow-moving traffic, take care and keep your speed low. and in Rule 211 It is often difficult to see motorcyclists and cyclists, especially when they are coming up from behind, coming out of junctions, at roundabouts, overtaking you or filtering through traffic. Always look out for them Means the drivers have a duty to look out for you when you are filtering. Hope that is clear for you know. Filtering is when you filter between the trafic - the one in your lane and the opposite lane if you filter offside or between your lane traffic and the curb nearside. You are confusing cars with bikes. Cars can't filter. Bikes can

    My MT09

Despite what you have said true I still love mine The main reasons are it is so light, agile, sharp and has masses of torque. Suspension gets better if you set it up properly and power delivery is handled by mode B and use of the clutch Or you can do ECU flash if you feel spending £300.
  21. Speak for urself, I saiz Iz legal cos da can is warming the tyre no need for tyre warmers innit?
