  1. You might find this helpful: http://www.pmtuning.co.uk/skin/frontend/default/pmtuning01/images/mediafiles/125cc-180cc_Aprilia_SR_Dragster_Runner_Typhoon_Skipper_Machines_Tuning_Guide.pdf
  2. Brilliant, I can legally fit L-plates to my bike and go out and see if people really do treat learners differently, or if its complete paranoia from people with L-plates.
  3. yeah youre right! its the VXR thats the fourstroke! not the FXR... confused as most manufactures us F for fourstrokes!
  4. You either buy really cheap crappy chains or you have zero mechanical sympathy!!
  5. Are you sure you're not comparing to the SP180? That's a 180cc two stroke motor, yours is the 180 four-stroke (not as fast)
  6. TAKE IT BACK!! A chain on a new bike shouldn't reach the end of its life in 4k miles!!
  7. so did the bike run and you blew a hole in the piston?
  8. Burn the bit you cut off, let it drip "fire drips" they make a great noise... Wheeeeezzeee zippppp
  9. Whilst doing a wheelie though, right? Lifting the bars up means you can get through narrower gaps. I know you're new to riding so I'll politely remind you: Highway code rule 52.7 "Lifting the front wheel whilst accelerating, sometimes known as 'wheelies' is only acceptable if an attractive member of the opposite (or same, depending on your inclination) sex is on the other side of the road and you are looking to impress them." Birds love a man who can get it up... The front wheel that is.
  10. Is there bike 6months old? If so it's under warranty and the dealer you bought it from has a responsibility to fix stuff that goes wrong!
  11. Then you need to take it back to the place you bought it from and make them fix it or replace with a new bike.
  12. Got any brake pads left?
  13. Another reason to hate cyclists...
  14. Well I'm fed up with sky anyway, NowTV looks a good alternative..
  15. The bike is always going to behave better when it's ridden as it's supposed to be. Research the proper way to change gears, and practice being smoother, it may be at least part of your problem.
  16. So you are letting go of the grip and letting the twistgrip spring back? No, you shouldn't do that. You should be keeping hold of the handlebar and rolling the throttle shut just enough so as to stop the engine screaming when you pull in the clutch. Certainly don't wait for the revs to drop right off before changing gear. The whole process of changing gear should take a fraction of a second with the revs barely dropping off.
  17. Hope you don't actually let go!
  18. How were you connecting the multimeter to the wires? Were you holding the bare ends of the meter probes and thus measuring your own resistance?
  19. Why not use an actual fan isolator switch? http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Electrical/d190/Crabtree+White+Wiring+Accessories/sd3354/Crabtree+Fan+Isolator+/p11750 http://cdn.toolstation.com/images/141020-UK/800/11750.jpg
  20. And check the movement of the clutch mechanism inside the cover.
  21. Post some pics of the plates.
  22. Sky are idiots. They don't have to close the office.
  23. Great thread, love stuff like this. Back in the day when I was into nodded cars, To lower the compression, the old trick used to be to fit a thicker head gasket. Is that an option with these motors?
  24. If anyone wants a genuine ADT dummy alarm box with solar powered flashing blue LEDs let me know. I have a mate who works for ADT and can source them .
  25. Keep the door shut and don't let anyone know you have a bike in there. That's the best solution!
