  1. My gsf spent 7plus years doing sweet FA in wales with its first owner very late on in his tundure, its second owner had it less than a year. The dealer i got this from absolutely fooked everything up cos there muppests. so im its real third owner rolling on my 2nd year. Nothing wrong or difficult apart from a nut/bolt combination that's definitely not factory for the airbox on a bike that was under 4500 miles...go figure. But im happy with it and have no desire to drop it for anything other than a guzzi S like westy has but a not wanting to sign up to anything at the mo as the gsf is mine. Oh ok just forgotton again.... oh well hope it goes well and back to riding.
  2. I had a thundercat that had min of 6+ owners- can't remember exactly but it was considered high, its not the owners its the condition! zx6r had 4 i think but about 20k miles including some track time from the previous owner. daytona had 5+owners but lower miles so it was a sunday best ride and so for some not worth keeping- the Day was ment as a bucket list thing only for a year but i kept it for over 4 years, nothing wrong with zx or day (apart from a battery) during my time with them but the Day costed the dealer a big bill (stat, reg &battery) just before i picked it up. my bro has a one owner from new volvo estate tank with lpg conversion too, stacked history yada yada...its got patina if your nice.it had over 400000miles when he bought it, its cracked over 500000miles now while still the same and hasnt cost him owt over the normal stuff... so for me if its been looked after, history and in good nick without bodgery why not?
  3. Can be people convinced themselves that it is the correct bike for them (change of bike category or bucket list etc) when really it isn't (u and ur bike for example ) , maybe just a change for changes sake like you probably do with your cars??? and change the bike again especially as its a niche bike. Maybe things were a deal breaker? Positon, tyres, parts, maybe they just really didn't like it or just that waa the last bike before deciding not to bother riding anymore... well your gonna have to get face about priority, if you go for a older bike its gonna more likely to have a few owners but you bought something that would have lost loads of depreciation previously anyaway so as long as you dont get giddy and over pay for something youll barely lose much money. if a bike had a massive stack of history and was much loved bike in good nick at a attractive price but had 50k plus miles- is that a breaker? For some its not even a negative... If it didnt have loads of owners but sat in a garage fir 10years, did it get a proper hibernation and was it brought back to commission correctly? Does it still have problems? Some bikes prefer running than storage. ive had bikes from different manufacturers, ages, owners, history, their all unique in for different reasons and each would have different draws and breakers for any buyer...just make sure you make the correct choice for you.
  4. If your going to Just slap a generic one your likely going to have to splice the lex headlight connection on the new one. try make sure its the same technology and power rating. Also to note you may need to diy the fitment to the bike.
  5. If i was to be arsey id say its on the sump and should be right if tour gonna paint the thing make sure its actually done. If your one of those brush up ur back types....well if the manufacturer didnt bother to paint it much it cant be that important, they know better-. well depending on if you actually own or pcp it? Leave it be and hand it back after your tender, where theyll have a good clean bike apart from the hard to ignore bare metal sump and engine casing... "well if yama actually cared and bothered" and get a different manufacturer bike afterwards. if your own it now and tend to keep it very long term id be tidying it now as you know yama aint gonna accept they're suppliers shoddy workmanship, and see how it goes.
  6. even the french aint that savage while pissed up and trying to kill an engine at the bol d'or camp. Yea you could (to QUICK test if the engine starts under the assumption it's a sound engine ie if rebuild or buying from a scrap merch after hand crank compression check before hand. REALLY i wouldn't unless really necessary. oh and for giggles attach a ballon to the pipe(s) and cut the end off and start it up for amusement!
  7. Of course not forgetting that not all leather is the same nor have the blanket same uses. Cow - which breed of, what part and where from in the world it was living, let alone tannings yada yada. Very little of each goes to any waste as its parts have uses in other trades, even textiles... kangaroo - again strong but more importantly for racers its lighter and but thesee is less of it to each beast and it takes extra care and attention to process it not including farming the things. heard even things like sting rays and shark skins have been used too for things like gloves and boots.
  8. Agree, similar but worse than painted swing arm woes. think BMW can trump those...Roadster r1200's probably the nicest looking with nice touches (my opinion) for a long time but hampered by anything that had paint chrome or lacquer like casings, wheels, forks, frame, pretty much everything was thin, bubbling mess. Not including electrical and components problems ontop of the normal bm things.
  9. J and s have one on rst including heated gloves.
  10. To be fair, i always have a think it over .
  11. Just incase other people need it to whats the company???
  12. Westy is correct. none is particularly right or wrong for everyone but knowing what you want and need from the product to buy once "wisely" is the key. To answer the question: Part of the reason for leather is still preferred on track to this day that its direct heat transfer is less doesn't melt (burn and fuse with skin) with friction which has always been a risk and to a point still is there weak point for textiles even now with linings that help but still very much a risk at very high speeds on smooth mac. temperatures from friction will be vastly higher achieved than on any public asphalt which will be rougher and cutting (like a cheese grater) than heat build up from say a fine sand paper of track mac. another is that its tighter fit (generally) holds itself together better(stiffer) in a spill so if there are underlying injuries it help hold the body firm into place. one good thing about leather which is just it lasts long at surviving spills and easier to just change a recked panel than text which needs more layers and less companies do this service.
  13. Hi. This includes the Yadea and Voge range, as well as Lexmoto. All of our Euro 5 models now benefit from a 2-year parts & labour warranty, even the 50cc range! Every single one also comes with a transferable warranty, meaning that it now follows the bike onto subsequent owners, rather than just its first.12 Jul 2021 you should, name and shame its the only way they sort their shite out. normally the relys are near the fuses and ecu as they thats where space is. If you give pitstop in hull for example a ring, they might know if a different model has the same part but its not generally listed as such. other possibilities to check are if there is corroding in the switches or connectors of the loom. The other is if they damaged the pins being rough with it while they looked at it? why forget about speedo drive cable? What else have they done to it?
  14. Gero is correct, Id just leave it be till spring now. If your desperate just wipe and buff with brush and cloth. if salt contamination is ingrained just a normal bike cleaner is safer, brush and wipe will do the trick of getting contaminated acf off. heavy coating is always possible with acf50 depending on how you apply it even there own spray bottles are crap as it just shots blobs at best or just drips out. The other is to put some on a paint brush and stroke away. Ideally a proper fine sprayer, compression or washing kit with lance attachment is best but i dont have one yet . xcp clear coat spray can is good for it i found out recently, reminds me of oxfords wax / silicone range for some reason.
  15. Whole bike looks neat!
