  1. motobatt's are very good batteries, especially for the winter

  3. Have you tried using full choke? Maybe that will tell you if it's a main jet problem without taking it all apart again.

Yeah they are quite messy, but they do the job well.

Yep. I agree. I had one on my last bike for a couple of years. Just keep it topped up and forget about it. Haven't got round to fitting it on this bike yet though
  6. Thanks mate. I must make the effort to remember this for the future.
  7. They used to be all over the M25 years back, and the traffic units used to have unmarked Jags with ANPR to front and rear. Very sneaky. Fortunately though the Met have had severe cut backs in the Traffic departments and I can't remember the last time I saw a Traffic car or bike on the motorways round here.
  8. Agreed. You don't need to buy new mate. Leathers can be ridiculously expensive new.
  9. Just get a knock around bike mate till your restrictions lifted. CB250's are good, plenty of old ones on the market. I've had a couple and paid between £500 and £700 for them with no work needed.
  10. Legalising drugs is a fashion statement at the moment. As has been said before, addicts need to get their money from somewhere, which is why it is NOT a victim less crime. i am fortunate enough to have a job that lets me meet drug addicts on a regular basis. Please don't believe what you read. Some are really nice guys but they admit that they will quite happily burgle a house or snatch a phone or smash a car window to get something out to fund the habit. At the end of the day, no one wants to employ a drug addict, so they have to get the money from somewhere, and that is through crime. Hard drugs is bad news
  11. I'm a Dad, but I wouldn't tell my Dad off. Come to think of it though, I don't think I have ever heard him swear....A true Gent
  12. Oh I wouldn't dare intentionally piss my parents off. I still have the child fear, especially of my Dad. I think it's really important to have respect for your parents, it isn't something that happens a great amount in this country, we tend to be a very selfish country us Brits.
  13. Was she very young? Minors shouldn't be on bkes really. Ha ha....good one
  14. I think most Mums hate bikes. My mum came off one in the 50's which she was riding round a Yorkshire coal field on. The handle bar went through her thigh. I do often remind her though that I could't possibly do something nearly as stupid.
  15. My parents still moan about me smoking when I go and see them, but that's about all.
  16. Ebay is a great place for a buyer, but terrible service for the seller. I would contact the guy and see what he has to say. Maybe just a mistake
  17. Oh come on. That's a bit harsh isn't it? Blowing a man to pieces is one thing but making him eat cold spaghetti on toast is just plain sick.
  18. Are the others flashing faster? My guess would be the same as yours. Take the bulb out, dry it all out and make sure the bulb contacts are clean. Try that, if not, it's probably damp in the switch on the bars. You can either squirt some wd40 into the switch unit through one of the little holes or take the switch unit apart and dry it out. If you're doing that, you may as well buy a small tube of contact grease and grease all the connections in there. Good for weather proofing.
  19. Is this the screw you broke? http://c.fixya.net/fixya20/uploads/Images/tombones49_85.gif
  20. Oh dear. These things happen. How much left of the screw do you have left sticking out? If it's quite a bit, you can file a slot into the end and get a screwdriver blade in there or file the sides and use a spanner. If it's broken flush or sunken, you can drill it and use a screw extractor. Are you able to take a photo of the screw and the carb? It would make it a lot easier.
  21. Through what you have described, you have found the idle screw. It may have just seized. Give it a good squirt of wd40 and see if that loosens it. Carbs are pretty tough so don't worry too much, just see if you can clamp it steady whilst you turn the screw. Try it both ways to loosen it and just have the engine running (you may need someone to keep a bit of throttle on at first to stop it cutting out). Then I would loosen the throttle cable again as it's quite important to have a little free play in it. If you're unsure of anything, take some pictures and post them on here. Good luck, Rob
  22. That's a hell of a lot of mileage for a 125. Sounds to me that the battery isn't holding it's charge properly. Do you have anything else connected to it? Bikes are a bit funny with the choke on, and they need playing around with a bit, but it's certainly not uncommon for the revs to drop dramatically when warmed up with full choke on, you will just need to listen to the revs and adjust accordingly. Not sure why you're getting white frothy stuff in the air inlet. Have you checked the air filter is free from water? Not sure what they're like on those bikes but some are just foam that needs to be washed and soaked in oil. Just realised someone has posted whilst I was typing. It could be that the brushes are wearing in the starter motor or tat the motor needs the carbon cleaning out of it. What sort of noise are you getting when it tries to start from cold?
  23. Thanks everyone! I had forgotten to be honest.
