On the way home from Cadwell a few weeks ago. I was riding with my visor up when a fly hit me in the eye at about 80ish MPH. The fly splattered in my eye and load of black bits were coming out for days afterwards. My eye has been sore ever since. Today i saw a fairly large black peice of crap in the middle of my eye which i could shift with eye washes.

At A&E the nurse tried to remove the object. Anitestic sprayed in the eye and she tried to swipe the eye. The object wouldn't move, so she got the optometrist who had a look and gave me a bollocking for leaving it.

The eye had actually grown a film over the bit of fly in the eye. He had to make a cut to remove what turned out to be a part of a fly's wing.

So sat here feeling sorry for myself

I have come home from being out on the bike to finding the remnants of flies that decided to explore my eyes at speed turned to gunk in the corner of my eye, but never been sore for more than 5 mins or so.

Wish you and your eye a swift recovery!
