Fozzie Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Is it because of media exposure, or are we really losing a lot all at once here? Still reeling from Rickman and Bowie going so close. Little sister bawled her eyes out over it!There must be a big after party going on up there... Quote

Joeman Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Lets hope there is limited amount of cancer in the world and these guys are using it all up for us! Quote
soll Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 although sad, its bringing media attention to Cancer once again, a plague of sorts that has been in the background for such along time. Most cancers are treatable, but those that arnt need to be researched and then killed. For each famous person I guess 100 normal people die in the modern world, more in less developed areas......But as the Keanu reeves post on fb says:Keanu Reeves writes.. "My friend's mom has eaten healthy all her life. Never ever consumed alcohol or any "bad" food, exercised every day, very limber, very active, took all supplements suggested by her doctor, never went in the sun without sunscreen and when she did it was for as short a period as possible- so pretty much she protected her health with the utmost that anyone could. She is now 76 and has skin cancer, bone marrow cancer and extreme osteoporosis. My friend's father eats bacon on top of bacon, butter on top of butter, fat on top of fat, never and I mean never exercised, was out in the sun burnt to a crisp every summer, he basically took the approach to live life to his fullest and not as others suggest. He is 81 and the doctors says his health is that of a young person.People you cannot hide from your poison. It's out there and it will find you so in the words of my friend's still living mother: " if I would have known my life would end this way I would have lived it more to the fullest enjoying everything I was told not to!"None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Eat the delicious food. Walk in the sunshine. Jump in the ocean. Say the truth that you’re carrying in your heart like hidden treasure. Be silly. Be kind. Be weird. There’s no time for anything else."He has a point, you never know when the reaper is coming, so go happy........ Quote
Joeman Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 At uni we did loads of cosmic ray experiments. Detecting high energy sub atomic particles that the universe fires at us. These things are mostly harmless and are passing through you right now, out the other side, and continuing through the earth and back out into space... It just takes one of these to pass through a cell nucleus in "the wrong way" and that cell can become cancerous..Some people even drop dead when a particularly nasty one zips through their brain and kills a bunch of important cells. Post mortem scans reveal a dead straight line of cell damage through the brain....Cancer rates rise and fall with cosmic ray activity, and there is literally nothing we can do about it! Not even a foil hat would help!!So as above, live life, enjoy life, don't starve yourself of fun... You never know when some nasty little particle from the other side of the cosmos is going to zap your brain!! Quote

As for cosmic rays Joe, I've never gave it a thought!! But we're off to Norway at the weekend to search out the northern lights so bring on the rays! Quote
Six30 Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Think it's just how your luck is, sure you can try and lead a healthy lifestyle , but when the Reaper comes calling, he won't take that in to account. Quote

As for cosmic rays Joe, I've never gave it a thought!! But we're off to Norway at the weekend to search out the northern lights so bring on the rays! A few years ago I spent new years in Norway, way up in the Arctic circle. Only a few hours or daylight and we were out on small inflatable boats tracking the orca Whales migrate..The northern lights were spectacular, as was the way they drive on sheet ice like we drive on normal roads! First bend we came to in a minibus I cringed expecting us to slide off the road, but we didn't! It was so against every driving Instict.. Very strange!!You'll have a great time I'm sure Quote

Tankbag Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 I can't help wonder about the nuclear fallout caused by all the hundreds of test bombs over the years & that shit has gotten into the food chain etc & is causing some of these cancers Quote
