So, one problem I have with a rear tyre is that it lets the pressure out, I would say in two weeks it goes down from 29psi to 18psi. I suppose I should go to the people who installed the tyre 6 months and ask to look at it?

But the main concern now I found a slightly melted patch on a rear tyre and when i parked up it was still rather soft (see the attachment)-so the question is - why? Why some random spot decided to melt a little bit?

My bike is YBR-125 and I just do the commute.

Looks to me like it's some crap stuck to the tyre and not actually the tyre that's melted

Although I am on my mobile!!

I had something similar on my car tyre, while it was parked in our driveway. We were baffled at the time. A few days later, in the middle of the night, it sounded like we were in the middle of an earthquake and the house was about to fall down. We herded the kids outside, and then saw smoke coming out the bottom of our car. Turned out there was an underground fire outside our property, where the mains cables were shorting. The car was parked on a manhole cover which had got so hot from the fire that it was melting the tyre. Next thing we knew, fire brigade were on the scene and our front garden was being dug up.

Yeah...I reckon you ran over something very hot.....or parked on something very hot.......

:stupid:

Or, some rubber melting fluid (MEK perhaps?).

NB. Your drive chain is in need of lubrication.

I was thinking the same chemicals, some chemicals can do strange things to rubber...
