Throttled Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 A glove that includes Goretex in its making should work. But they tend to be winter gloves. Nickwax glove proof, regular applications helps with cheaper summer gloves. Quote
Arwen Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 Halvarssons/Lindstrands do a range of summer waterproof gloves. I've found them to be completely waterproof, however I don't go out in torrential downpours. Quote
Tango Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 How much are you prepared to spend?......Goretex gloves for sure......check out Rukka and Held gloves...... Quote
Tankbag Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 Dane Tyril Did you have a full jug in the topbox or an empty 1 you filled at the shop Quote
Martyn850 Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 I have a pair of Held Air ‘N’ Dry gloves. Dual chamber so one side is vented for when it’s sunny, and gore-tex for when it’s not. Expensive but I like them.https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/99470 Quote

Guest Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 Been looking for waterproof summer gloves, tried Knox covert, great level of protection but not a good fit for me and felt too much like they have a lining so exchanged for the Dane Tyril. Seem ok, fit on fingers is good, raesewell did you find them a bit stiff and if so do they soften up? They feel tight across the inside of the fingers when I close my hand as if to grip the throttle. Quote
bonio Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 I don't bother with them. In summer, I use lightweight gloves that let the water in. When my hands get cold, the heated grips go on, and when it stops raining, the gloves dry out quickly enough. Quote

No room in the house for expensive uncomfortable gloves Quote

When my hands get cold, the heated grips go on, and when it stops raining, the gloves dry out quickly enough. I do the same except if it's a long day I carry my waterproof winter gloves so if rain gets that bad I can change. Let's face it if it fits from nice to horrible and your getting cold your not going to argue with warm hands.... Quote
raesewell Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 The thread was about summer gloves, and the Dane Tyril are OK down to about 10 degrees C. Below that you will need something thicker. For winter I have Richa Cold Protect. Both gloves are totally waterproof. Quote
Throttled Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 I must admit, if it for summer riding, as in proper summer riding, so what if your gloves and hands get wet? If I am touring in the summer and have been caught out with bad rain, my light Oxford vented gloves get wet and then within 30 minutes of riding in the dry, they are dry again. Once, when it was bucketing down, I got some food preparation gloves from a Mcdonalds and wore them underneath the gloves as they were sticking to my hands. But it was summer, it was not cold! Quote
raesewell Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 Whenever I wear plastic, nitrile or latex gloves my hands sweat so much it's like I've had them in a bucket of water so not an option for me.I have worn the Dane Tyril gloves in 30 degree C weather and because they are breathable, very little sweat. Quote
Throttled Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 I only wear plastic gloves to get the gloves on when wet, they dry off quickly and I only have them on for a shirt time. Quote
