Guest Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 At the start of the year I visited an abandoned village in Murcia......took loads of pics too.Well it turns out that it wasn't the one I thought it was! It was a completely different one! So this Sunday I'm going to the correct one......not sure how rough it's going to get though! But I'm a Pensioner......not a Casual......I can handle it! You Gammons just stick to your local tea rooms and dogging areas! Leave the real riding to the real men! Quote
husoi Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 Feels like an Iberian thing those abandoned villages.Portugal have lots of the same, mostly up north. Quote

And the majority of the abandoned villages here are in the north too. They were both poorer countries in the past so the people migrated elsewhere for work. Quote
Tiggie Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 I'll have to make do with going to Bradford. Not much difference in the decay and decripitude Quote

fastbob Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 Speaking of abandoned villages , I will be visiting one myself next week . Due to the uncertainty about camping in Scotland I have been doing a bit of virtual exploring on Google Maps and I have come up with an amazing place to Free Camp on my way to the Northern Highlands . In this case the " Village " is one of a series of 2,800 year old Iron Age Hill Forts between the Scottish villages of Crawford and Abington . As you can see there is a rideable track leading up into the hills so I'm thinking that tucked away behind that Wood would be the ideal campsite . You can see the main Hill Fort in the bottom left hand picture . Quote
Guest Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 Brilliant fastbob........are you able to zoom right in close on Google Earth? Quote
fastbob Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 Brilliant @fastbob........are you able to zoom right in close on Google Earth? I can see individual huts . The second picture is about a mile away . The one I'm camping next to looks like the equivalent of a Council Estate compared to the round one . Quote
Guest Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 Look forward to seeing the shots from there Bob! Once again it's the old guys pushing the boundaries! Quote
