He is technically called the under butler and would assist with the organisation of the lesser servants and deputising receiving guests at major functions.

Me leaving and returning to the house does sometimes turn into a major function 😆

By the time I’ve put on 7 layers, decided what bike to ride, found the key, looked at a map for a rough location, realised I don’t know where my wallet is, that I haven’t charged my phone,  realised I need a pee and have to take off and put back on 7 layers it’s a major production. I should sack the butlers really cos they should be helping with all this.

I treat the motorbike like prepping a Phantom F4J for flight ..... get all the right kit into one place, remove the locks and chocks, have a good look around the bike for anything untoward, dress for the occasion ( usually multi layer fibre pile and bib tights, with a one piece waterproof shell at this time of year ),  position for start (my bike lives outside) ... climb on, start, check lights .... launch :classic_biggrin:

The process is about 15 minutes start to finish but i stay warm and things work ,,,,

Summer is a different ( somewhat quicker ) process ......

The Honda goes in forwards because I can push it up the slope of the drive. The Bobber goes in backwards because there's nothing at the back end to get hold of so I ride it up the slope to get out of the garage. Plus it means the chains are on the side I can reach that way.

With winter gear and always wearing a buff I got half way up the hill last week and wondered why my head was cold.

Only forgotten to put the helmet on, it was still on the wall outside the house.

Laughed at this one, reminded me of the wife driving off in the car with my helmet on the roof and me running down the road waving like a lunatic trying to stop her :classic_laugh:
