Hello, thanks for letting me in, I'm finally going for my bike licence after not having had one (a bike) for about twenty years.

Hope the tests aren't as hard as people say...

Its just a thing that has to be done, do you have any experience?

Not of the tests! Used to rip around on bikes when I was a yoof, but it's been a long time.

Got my theory and hazard mystification next week, kept clicking too early on the practise videos, guess that's what nearly 25 years of avoiding idiots does for your hazard perception, got used to when they want you click now though.

👋 👋 👋

I don’t think it’s that difficult, just involved. You couldn’t point at any particular part of the test and say it’s difficult it just has a lot of components to consider. Don’t clutter your mind and take one bit at a time, which is all you can do anyway. The necessary bits of paper eventually accumulate and the shiny new licence will be yours.

Yeah to be honest, I'm not overly worried, just can't be arsed buying and riding round on a 125 for the sake of "practice" so hoping I'll get through it doing a few days training and the tests

If you’ve ridden a bike before and you’re not an uncoordinated lump Im sure you’ll be fine. Then again I did get a 125 which I needed and I’m not an uncoordinated lump 😆

Hi @Heavycheese. Great name, by the way :thumb:

I'm an uncoordinated lump, and I passed both mod 1 and 2 on the second attempt.

I guess you've heard the advice of "click once, and one second later click again" for the hazard thingy. It aimed at people like you with years of experience on the road who notice the hazard too early.

Passing mod one first time would suggest perhaps you’re not 😆

What about the bit where he said he passed them both on the 2nd attempt?

Hmm me thinks a case of reading what you think it says rather than what it actually says. Oops.
Not that it matters lump or no lump everyone (bar the odd person who maybe on there 15th test might want to consider it’s perhaps not a good idea) gets there in the end.

If you've ridden bikes before you'll likely fly through. As all the experience comes flooding back.
Even I passed the Mod1 first time. With one minor being a bit fast on the hazard avoidance (69kmh :classic_ohmy:).

Awaiting my date for Mod2.
