I’m after a pair of new Michelin tyres for my bike.

I’ve got a reliable fitter, who’s an ex bike racer, so I trust him 100% with the fitting.

Im just wondering where you guys get your tyres?

Ebay?

 Thanks

I strongly advise against buying the tyres and have them fitted elsewhere.

Reason being that should something go wrong you're at the mercy of the online retailer to be willing to do anything about it.

If you buy the tyres through the garage then the warranty is easily actioned.

Michelin have a warranty process that can be actioned by the garage but not by the online retailer.

Should you still want to get the tyres online mytyres.co.uk is a good place to have a look.

Plenty of information about them.

Once you have selected the tyres you want then a google search will return mytyres and possibly a couple other websites with a cheaper price.

Thanks chaps.

His business is car tyres, as he says he just doesn’t make money on bike tyres anymore.

I grew up with the guy so I know he’s no bullshitter.

I asked him about tyres the other day, and he just mentioned that maybe I could buy them cheaper elsewhere, he’ll fit them for free.

The idea of a warranty never occurred to me!

Ive been riding bikes for over 40 years and never had to claim on a tyre warranty?

I will take a look at where you recommend, and if I’m only saving a few quid, then I’ll get my mate to buy them anyway. I’m not fussed over £20.

Cheers

Even sportbikeshop sells tyres.

I never had issues either but last time I was looking for tyres for my car I end up getting 20k miles out of the crossclimate and michelin told me that I should raise the issue with the seller not directly with them.

It is worth searching for deals on local fitting garages.

I guess it depends on which tyres and the sizes.....that may limit your choices. I got PR5's for my Speedy off an ebay seller and had them fitted at a local bike shop......but they were pretty standard sizes.
