onesea Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 Are there any regulations for the placing of these? Road side signs have to be of certain construction. These things remind me of something I was once told of your going to hit something don’t hit a tree they don’t give… Round here they are being liberally painted on verges typically on the outside of bends. Get it wrong or greeted by the inappropriate over take you have no where to go… 1 2 Quote
billy sugger Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 Judging by the state of the ground near them they have been planted to stop parking on the verges Quote

They just seem to be spray painted at any excuse.. Quote

Guest Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 Really everything should look like this If you hit one you are probably will be buggered. Same as a lamppost, telegraph pole, tree, vehicles, rocks, walls, fences or any other of the endless hard structures that line roads. Quote

No I agree, however there should be consideration before placing them. Reducing road markings then lining unlit roads with unlit spikes with no reflectors, is a recipie for trouble... Particularly on roads with large unlit animals grazing on. As someone who commutes by bike across the forest at all times of day and year the increasing numbers of them often with little point is alarming. Quote

Mobilise the local WI I'm sure they could knit some stuff around those no worries Quote
