MotorBike001 Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 Hi All, After being a bit lazy checking my tyre pressures (on the bike and car), and getting a flat after a slow puncture I think it's time I bought a tyre inflator that can plug into the mains. I know there are plenty online and in Halfords. Can anyone recommend one that they use? Thanks! Quote
Tiggie Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 I bought mine from Aldi. Has worked for last couple of years no issues. Quote
Capt Sisko Posted August 1, 2023 Posted August 1, 2023 I've been using a USB rechargeable one for the last couple of years bought off Amazon for about 25 quid. It's about the size of a can of beer and has proven very useful. Not sure how it would cope with whole tyre from completely flat, but for a pre-ride tyre pressure check (my front has a slow that looses about 2psi per week), it's more than good enough. Two complaints, 1/ it's quite noisy and 2/ the flexy hose screws onto the valve stem and can lose a little air when you unscrew it it. The ones that have clip on end are better. 2 Quote

I've got the Eco | 2023 Smart Portable Tyre Inflator from Amazon and agree about the screw fitting. There's maybe an adapter you can get, haven't looked into it. 1 Quote
Mississippi Bullfrog Posted August 1, 2023 Posted August 1, 2023 I cut off the screw connector and replace it with a clip on type. The daft thing is that if you buy the clip on its own it is more expensive than buying one with a tube attached. 1 Quote

husoi Posted August 2, 2023 Posted August 2, 2023 I have been considering this one. USB 8A battery tyre inflator The 8000mA capacity of the battery will be more than adequate for a longer life span. Only setback is the 2 to 3 weeks delivery time. Quote
MotorBike001 Posted August 2, 2023 Author Posted August 2, 2023 I've ordered this one - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0BRGSNDVY I wouldn't use AliExpress - it gets shipped directly from China. I'm not sure were that leaves you in terms of warranty if it becomes faulty, or arrives faulty. 1 Quote
Fiddlesticks Posted August 2, 2023 Posted August 2, 2023 That one is pretty good - and it fits in my tank bag. 1 Quote

Throttled Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 I got a Ring RTC 2000 battery powered inflator. Going by other pressure gauges/inflators I have, it under reads slightly. I guess, from my use, when fully charged, it will inflate 2 tyres pretty much from flat before the battery goes. It has a handy light, enough to move about in a tent with and it can act as a power bank for your phone. Quote
Stu Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 I have one of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/AA-Inflator-Compact-Lightweight-Travel/dp/B00HWMPK6S/ref=asc_df_B00HWMPK6S/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=310744208542&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=3853699204343254393&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9046254&hvtargid=pla-356005205900&psc=1&th=1&psc=1 It works but I had the inflator pipe popped off recently so I am looking for something a little better myself but not a rechargable type Quote

Topped up the bike tyres, and checked the 4 car tyres - one was a bit low. The battery indicator has gone done 1 stop (of 3 levels). I'm a bit dubious about how it will last long term, especially the battery, but we'll see.. 1 Quote
