It's road users who are to blame not speed limits

This happened on a road I drive regularly, it recently underwent improvements to protect road users, as far as I'm aware there had never been an accident on the road.

Limit reduced to 30, a bus lane added, road narrowing a light controlled crossing.

I can tell you exactly what I think  happened, before the bus stop there is a roundabout with a bit of a dip and some camber, you can see from the tyre marks the rear has gone light coming off said roundabout, driver has veered into center then over compensated, regained grip and it's pointed him straight at other side, had they just gone straight they would have ended up in a garden, still trying to correct it they've regained some control and instead drove straight through the bus stop along the path, wiping out the poor folk standing there.

Rwd, fishtail, useless driver, clearly over the speed limit by some margin going off the skid marks alone.

The road in question frequency has pricks who go through red light, do double the speed limit ( pure guess going off being overtaken and undertaken ) it's not the road or the speed limit that's the issue it's the rapidly declining standard of driving and respect for anyone or anything else.

No doubt a 20mph will be along soon which will make no difference whatsoever to the risk from twats.

Speed doesn't harm you. Is when you stop abruptly that is dangerous :)

Stupidity is the cause of most accidents.

Unfortunately gov does nothing to prevent idiots from getting their license.

More drivers means more cars and more taxes revenue.

Thanks for the extra details bender and sounds about right... Im sure there is a few more details to add. tool with nangkang tyres on in cold slimy conditions or diesel on the road (ive suffered from that a good few times in the car and bike😱😳🤬 but im sure most will say to teen was just being tool...

Husoi i agree out of first thought but its not always before they start or when they get the licence, it's afterwards thats the problem, mostly attitude and lack of skill that makes things more difficult!  So i agree but particularly with bender.

maybe wish for forward thinking of black boxes and tracking for certain individuals or risk groups? Or just everyone? Thats for a different discussion im sure.

My long bug bare is that the government /dvsa have introduced an enduring stepping stone licence saga for motorcycles... but never introduced such measures to a car licence aswell...
Get it wrong on a bike at best you'll really hurt yourself so self control and preservation is higher regarded (unless the individual is proper loon) but in a car it's an insurance claim.

So if you see the fail army vids to prove a point...Any noob with money can just buy or rent what they want (within insurance permitting) just anything without any skill or attitude test beforehand which test their luck with the car ecu to try and make up the difference of the dump meat sack controlling upto 1000hp 2.5ton death machine battering ram where in an accident the muppet will most likely survive but the innocent bystander(s) will be the one who suffer greatly.

Now this could open up for other points and discussions but i'll leave that book closed.

in work places (unless were talking very specialised like army, mining etc) where the vehicle could be pretty much the same, operate the same, going slower but you still need separate licences for each one and retests 3-5years for yet the risk of accidents are generally lower... go figure.

Apparently word on the social media rumor mill, car was stolen, all concerned have been arrested.

If it was stolen I'm sure the lovely driver who is the best child a parent could want only has 5000034 previous offences.

Same road tonight had 2 cars clearly jump red lights I was half a van length over the line when they decided stopping was not for them, it's within a few hundred meters of the now cordoned off bus stop.

When (if) it goes to court he'll turn out to be a promising footballer or is going into the army so can't have his life ruined by a prison sentence

You are probably close but I favour the footballer option as the drug use could be seen as lifestyle rehearsals !

Cheers
