Hello everyone

I have been riding motorbikes abroad for >15 years. I came to the UK a little over a year ago and now hold a full driving license and have been driving here for around 6 months. I did my motorcycle theory and CBT recently and have been trying to find a way to get MOD1 and MOD2 done without spending a fortune on lessons. I did a quick MOD1 practice run on an unrestricted bike after my CBT with my instructor and it went well. So I am pretty sure I would not need days of training for it.

I have been trying to find a company, or someone, whom I can hire a bike from for maybe an hour or so before the test and do the tests on it too. No luck so far.

Anyone have any idea about what I can do?

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks

I can imagine it's going to be hard to find someone to rent you a bike - their insurance policies won't cover a learner. But I'd have thought any riding school would be happy to take you out for an hour's lesson and then come up with a plan to get you through the test tailored to your ability. You'd have to pay school prices for lessons you do take, and to cover the time you're on their bike for the two tests. 5 hours total perhaps? + the cost of the tests themselves.

Go to a school and speak with them. They should be able to tailor your lessons.
I doubt you will need many so I would suggest paying by the lesson rather than a block that they would normally do for a DAS. They should give you an assessment lesson and take it from there.

I passed my bike test back in 2006 before the mod 1 &2 started. I was a Driving Instructor back then and had messed about on bikes when I was in my teens.
I took 6 lessons over 4 weeks while waiting for the test date and passed.
