Until this year, I have had a dog attack me once in my life and it just left some slobber on my arm. Then twice this year, both times causing injury. When that XL Bully clamped its jaws on my arm, despite its owner being right there, I realised how it is that they can kill. I would have had no chance if it had not been for it responding to its owner.

XL Bully dogs shouldn't be in this country. All the owners say they are sweet and wouldn't harm a fly blah blah - until they do. Any dog deliberately bred for fighting and aggression has no place on the streets of Britain.

I agree on XL bully dogs. I find those who staunchly defend them blindly do so purely out of emotion. I do respect those who take proper precautions with them though, so long as they aren't breeding more.

Tonight I walked by a Spoons pub and there was a poor dog, looked like an Irish setter, which was tied up outside. Was there when I walked by to the shops, and still there nearly an hour later. Thing was whimpering, looked scared, and was focused intently on the pub. Really angered me quite a lot.

I also think dogs have become more of a fashion piece in recent years to some folk. You still get those who genuinely want a pet, but for some the love is scratch card thin or misplaced. Quite a few people in my age group have recently all gone and got one, and it follows the same order. They get a new partner, move in quickly, then get a dog. It's like they all read the same self help book or something "How to look happy and grown up, for dummies". Usually goes a few weeks before they begin enlisting the dog sitters.

Just thinking out side the box, I believe Korea consider dogs nuts to be a delicacy, although never tried em myself, could this be an opportunity for an Entrepreneur export business, maybe address the UK's balance of payments on  import export issues. Wonder how one does the market research on this, any ideas?

Actually eating dog is increasingly frowned upon in Korea and the only Korean dogs I know are these 3 - not in any danger at all of being eaten pampered pooches that they are.

It happened when I was working, delivering a meals on wheels. I ended up with bite marks on my arm and got a tetanus booster at A&E. The dog's owner, who was normally very responsible with it anyway, agreed to place the dog with a neighbour when we delivered to the house.

We are not allowed out in public with knives and guns, but for some strange reason, we have been allowed to take out dogs that can easily kill. That appears to be ending, thankfully.

Then they think having and looking after a human being is a great ideat 🤪🧐🤨, then the next step into adding another problem to society for everyone else to put up with.

Saw a lot of that in my 20s, have been propositioned for it too, and sadly it rarely ends well. Both for pets or dogs.

I (we) are going through hell.  The wolfhound bitch is in season and wants to tear the head off her ardent suitor.  Meanwhile, her ardent suitor, a Bassethound called Chester is not taking the hint.

He has not taken a bite to eat, or a wink of sleep in four days and will not stop whining and barking.. 24 hrs a day....

If someone passed me a gun, I dunno if I would blow my brains out or Chesters.

Poor boy.  I know he cannot help it really....

Astra the wolfhound actually grabbed him by the scruff of the neck and tossed him away yesterday.  Chester, a little stunned, soon felt better and normal service of beseeching whining and barking was resumed....

They grow up too quickly.

Puppies should be provided on something like a PCP contract so you can chop the old one in for a new one when they get bigger.

*Actually, having thought about that, no - this is one of my most stupidest ideas. A lifetime of cleaning up mess in the hall? I don't think so. This is as stupid as my idea that I'd be more successful at work if I tried telling the truth all the time to earn the respect of my bosses.

I'd be pulling on the disposable gloves and throwing it at their front door..... (whilst retching, of course).

Obligatory look at my Golden post

Came across what could of potentially been a bad problem yesterday. When I go out she stays in the dining room as its the most dog proof place. Gave her a Kong toy ( fill it with food and freeze it overnight, takes her an hour to finish that way) and went to work.

When I came back at dinner I couldn't open the dining room door. she had dropped the kong next to the door and the rubber was gripping the laminate so it wouldn't open. With a bit of jiggling I got the door open enough to get my hand through and knock it out of the way. Took a while though and didn't help that she kept smashing into the door being excited to see me and not understanding why I wouldn't open it! 😆

Uploaded a quick video on youtube to show how it blocked the door as its easier to see yourself
