The reply says it all.

I know not all disabilities are physical. But partaking in a disabled bay is just wrong.

My mum used to have a blue badge. My daughter often gave her a lift into Walsall, parking in a disabled spot on the hill where the market is (was?). My daughter used to get flack occasionally as she’s patently not disabled and her car was a Merc SL - not your typical car for disabled people. My mum would arrive, hobbling along with the aid of two sticks, and make it very clear that the complainers were way off the mark.

PS. My mum’s now 95, and fighting fit. She’s had operations to deal with the walking issues and has given up her blue badge.

I spent many years of my childhood riding down that hill in home made go carts. It’s a wonder I survived. Feels like a different life, but Walsall is the nearest I have to a home town.

I’m a Brummy, moved to Aldridge when I was 17, served my apprenticeship at Aluminium Bronze Co on Wallows Lane, Bescot, over the road from the old Saddlers football ground. I have many happy memories of my late teens in Walsall, particularly the “Bier Keller” at the Dirty Duck.

Not mine this time but I liked the sentiments Screenshot_20250426-1205052.thumb.png.c7141fcf1775316baca625e354e8700c.png

"I was just..."

I loathe the phrase. It's just self entitlement from a person who thinks they can do whatever they want regardless.

This is a version of it.

I only recently found out that new cars don't have a spare wheel! The 'people' who made that decision are the type of people who phone AA to replace the wheel and would have difficulty identifying a spanner, unless they looked in the mirror.

When my wife got a new car I had a whinge about the lack of a spare wheel whereupon she asked me where was the spare wheel for my bike.....Point.

My HR department have the collective IQ of an amoeba. They've known for 2 weeks we need to change out at least 13 guys and they've been prevaricating for days now. Finally I went over their heads to big boss so it is now happening  on Sunday except for 2 Filipinos who've already been here 9 months and despite weeks of planning HR haven't got the right documentation for their replacements. Oh and me as my relief is relieving the Mate who's well over his time. Meanwhile they'll source another Mate to come here so the guy who's supposed to be promoted can relieve me. Maybe in a month. I hate these reptiles.

I have insulted amoebas. Today the f-wits in my HR told me that the 4 Engineer would not get relieved tomorrow for "operational reasons". That sounds reasonable cos shit does happen but on making further enquiries it turns out that the joining 4th had an issue with her documentation. They've had 2 weeks notice to check this out so wtf does it not become apparent until 6 hours before she's due to fly!? I get to tell my guy he's not going home and will miss the family wedding he was due to attend next week. I really hate these bast*rds now. Used to be OK but last year they farmed it out to the Mumbai office and it's been total shite ever since.

Unless I was due to walk my daughter down the isle, this would be the perfect gig for me. Being stuck on a ship on the other side of the world due to an incompetent HR department is a pretty unbeatable excuse when most of us can only muster a bad case of Man Flu.

I've calmed down a bit but am still disgruntled.  Having thrown a hissy fit I got more info which in some ways makes it worse. The joining engineer is a new hire and is required to have a specific simulator course which she doesn't have. Now they knew this from when they took her on so a) why didn't they get her on the course ASAP and b) why wait until 24 hours before she was due to join to tell us she couldn't join? Complete cluster f@@k.

Sometimes I do wonder how we are still not being chased by saber tooth tigers as occasionally there seems to be a collective lunacy break out.

Right I am going to go of one… Auction houses, Facebook, E-Bay, buying, selling what ever….

I am having mass clear out at the moment and getting rid of allot of stuff.  Plus buying some other stuff.

Lying, profiteering, no shows, scammers, yes come view your the only one - sorry it’s sold.

Buying a car I have my eye out for a replacement for my XTrail.  A raV4, crv preferably not a freelander etc.

So FB has a search set, a number of times now sorry it’s sold.  2 days later it’s cleaned on FB recently serviced with a cowboy dealer at twice the price.  A couple of years ago I part exchanged a car by close of business next day it was on the market at 3 x price.

I would rather buy private than through some of the dealers round here.

Buyers are liars, if you can arrange to view in 30 minutes and still not turn up and reply 30 minutes later.

Even giving stuff away for free, time wasters make it difficult.

Now at the stage I would rather take things to the tip than deal with people.

I turned out the garage a couple of weeks ago, and had exactly the same thing with no-shows. In end I put stuff out on the road with "Free" stuck on it. Rather that than the dump.

When I  moved recently there was no room in this place for all my stuff, so I gave a lot to charity. This included all of my camera equipment, boxes of DVD's, books, and a rather decent, large flat screen TV with removable speakers  and a rather nifty electronic swivel system (you can swing the screen from left to right and vice versa) so you could alter the viewing angle. Nobody wanted it ,because it's not a smart TV. I used to connect my gaming consoles to it due to its size and picture quality,  though it doesn't have a tuner so no channels unless you use a digibox

Not a rant: I genuinely don't get the anger at the felling of a tree.

It was dumb vandalism - but it was only a tree. Everyone seems to have lost their mind about it.

Symbol and image.  People confuse the map with the destination.

What does your motorcycle mean to you? Freedom? Peace? Joy? More than the sum of its parts, I'm guessing.
