Mrs Fiddlesticks' new leather jacket arrived. Maybe I'm being picky, but I'd kind of like it if there weren't pulled threads and dodgy marks where the stitching should be.

Unreasonable expectations?

A brand new jacket should not look like that. That's shoddy workmanship and piss poor quality control letting it out the factory gate. No idea as to cost but I doubt it was that cheap.

Return it in two grounds. 1/ Faulty workmanship & 2/ Because of that the jacket isn't up to CE standard.

Put simply, in an accident that seam would tear and bang goes your protection. Post accident that involves an expensive experts report. Prior to an accident, it's just a case of, look this isn't good enough. Return it.

That doesn't look good or safe, I could have stitched that better after a few beers! Personally I'd send it back, if you don't, it will be in your head every time you wear it.
