    Carb work

yeah its a case of clean and put it back together what bike is it for? have you adjusted the carbs up as per manual? pilot screws out the correct number of turns etc? idle screw been turned up?
  9. you have already established you are getting charge to the battery at idle and at 5k revs so it may not be the stator or reg/rec although the reg/rec could be over heating with use and not charging after a while but then the bike would stop when riding it sounds to me like you could have an electrical drain when the bike is off or the battery is gone and not holding a charge!
  10. really? you should have learnt your lesson from the cheap EBC pads to not to buy cheap again buy ones that are proven that way you know they are going to be fine when you get them! ps make sure you get any servicing or repairs well out the way before the rally this year
  11. if your going ebc route stay away from their organic pads make sure you get sintered I had a set of organic ones once they was in for a whole two weeks before I binned them they was bloody useless!
  12. ah well in that case never used one
  13. That's for old screw and lock nut tappets its not often you see them on a bike now they are all shims and buckets and hydraulic adjusted
  14. About 50 quid from machine mart works really well too and they are really accurate

  16. Never used them other pads to be honest or never known anyone to use them! I wouldn't use Asda oil but halfords yes its good stuff at the moment I hate Castrol oil in that was on offer in Asda for 10 for 4 litres yes its car oil but its all the same stuff there was a big thread on it all not so long back

  19. Gutted! I was at cadwell park on sunday for some racing and didnt have my number with me! oh well its an excuse for a ride
  20. do as above welcome to the forum by the way
  21. It doesn't need to escape, it just needs to rise through the system and into the master cylinder reservoir. It may help it rise but that's not what you want! Because of the angles of master cylinder it will never reach the reservoir plus it it can't escape to the reservoir while the lever is pulled as pulling the lever makes it a sealed system To get the air out it needs to go down that's why you bleed them the way you do otherwise they would have invented a way to bleed them from the bottom!
  22. Yeah you can get some air out like that but not always all of it There is loads of techniques to get air out the best one I have found is filling from the bottom through the bleed nipples
  23. Sometimes you have to remove the calipers and raise them and tap them lightly to get the air too move Also it could be air at the banjo bolt on the master cylinder try pumping it up hold it back and crack the banjo open If anyone suggests holding the lever back all night ignore them its a myth air can't escape out of a sealed system!
  24. I think someone has the wrong thread
