  1. Depends on tyre size and whether it's front or rear.
  2. The Boa system is a bit shite, but OK. One of the wrist straps is attached in the wrong place, so it digs in to my wrist and goes crooked when tightened.
  3. I'm taking my Knox Orsa back to J&s, I've tried them on a few times, and one glove didn't seem right. I found a defect today, surprising poor quality control for £100 gloves. Otherwise, they're damn gorgeous on the hand.
  4. Good afternoon, and a sweaty one too. Been using my line trimmer for the past couple of hours, hate the damn things
  5. Well I torqued the caliper assembly bolts to 21, and the mounting (to the forks} bolts to 25.all with threadlock. Didn't seem right at all, I just have to tell myself that the torque wrench has far great leverage than the Allen tools I used. I only just managed to get them undone from my previous gorilla tightening. What do you call delicate? My new 3/8 wrench goes down to 12 N-m, which seems like a tickle.
  6. I've returned from Halfords with my new torque wrench and some thread lock. I'll give everything a little undo, and then torque up. Tomorrow night, I might actually get to ride out for an hour or two. Then the next job is tank off to change the air filter and remove my Oxford heated grips (I don't use them, and that bloody cable on each grip just drives me nuts), and also oil and oil filter change. Thanks all.
  7. Thank you for your input good people
  8. Thanks guys, these were my thoughts too, I'll pop along there this afternoon. I just had a most horrible thought, maybe I'm growing up
  9. Do you torque, or do you do "tight enough" for the small stuff, and 'kin tight for the big stuff. Have to confess, I've always been an advocate of the above but, I've recently stripped my front brake calipers and fitted new seals, polished the pliers marks left by the previous "mechanic", fitted new pads etc. Manual says to use non permanent thread lock and torque to 25nm etc. I don't have a small enough torque bar, or thread lock, so I did the main bolts, 'kin tight. Now though, I'm thinking, bike with me on is >350kg, along with the the possibilities of having to anchor up at high speeds, maybe I should nip off to Halfords and get the thread lock and torque bar. I get £25 off using my trade card.
  10. Just think bike, and open sunny roads. Maybe the missus too, I suppose.
  11. Have a great time, send us all a postcard
  12. At least we know you're a normal person.....
  13. Noooooo, it can't happen, I can't pee in front of other people...
  14. If the float sticks with the valve in the open position, it should come out of the overflow spout at the bottom, unless that's blocked. Then, it'll just flood the carb/engine. I'd put money on a fuel line leak further up, or the fuel tap, and that it's just running down to the carb body.
  15. Only ever read good stuff about the F800GS. From what I've seen on YouTube, it's one of those bikes you get if "you know". Congratulations.
  16. Hello and welcome to the forum. Welcome also, to a new world of excitement and wonder. Not to mention a new drain on your wallet
