Oh absolutely, it's not my car, I'm very aware of how the system works in relation to the sustained rpm required to automatically trigger regent attempts whilst driving etc. She potters around locally, very rarely gets the car on prolonged boost and due to a lack of cruise control we don't normally take her car on longer trips. I happen to have the vag Ross tech software to scan and read sutt levels etc so it's not actually that much of a pain. If I didn't have the software I'd of insisted she went with a different engine. Exactly this. The central shafts will rotate to extend at either end, the small nuts will lock it in place. The nuts have come loose and allowd the shafts to slacken.
