  8. That's the problem, on a CBT you can't book Bike Safe police course, I tried to book it a month after I passed but couldn't on a CBT. Only option I could find was paying for extra training, but with CamRider who i did CBT with they wanted £100 for a morning, so i didn't. I coulda really done with extra help. When I got back on the bike after my off I booked with Euro Rider for £60 for half hour at a friends recommendation to help with nerves. It helped, but the guy told me not to worry about countersteering and didn't give much more help than "you just need to put the miles in". Most help I had with my cornering issues is from following advice on this lovely forum, putting the miles in, and my pillion rides and ride alongs with TMBF Just to clarify, Bikesafe is not an advanced bike riding course, it is a one day (4hrs) course designed to help more experienced riders improve. By asking someone with only a CBT to "make progress" in bends is more liable to have them going in too hot and crashing. Other areas like road positing could also potentially result in a CBT only rider tangling with oncoming traffic. If you want advanced training, which Im all in favour of, then most most training places offer them.
  9. Well we made it To me Ricky gets the vote as he actually made it as well all the way from Southport (Albeit from a world tour by the sounds of it)....lol An excellent day for biking and loads of bikes there to see... Thanks all and hope to see you all again soonest...

  14. OK.....I have literally just got in from doing the Bikesafe Course in Lincoln...I'm knackered after 3 hrs of riding and 1 hr classroom work...but very very happy... I had a 1:1 with an ex Police high speed motorcyclist....He gave me excellent feedback starting with, after the first section...You are clearly an excellent rider we just need to get you into and out of corners better...and explanation followed of what he wanted me to do, then I followed him for a couple of miles and he let me passed and we then rode some extremely twisty roads in Lincolnshire with him once again observing me... anyway I wont bore you with my ride as it was fantastic....possibly the best 3 hrs riding I have ever done...but Following my experience with the IAM rthat I have described earlier my confidence was low...I never felt as if I was cornering well at all....turns out this wasnt true....so I clearly did learn a lot from the IAM ... The point I am trying to get to is this course was well worth the money to me as it has given me the confidence to ride again to the level that I knew I could be...so if you get the opportunity do it.. I learnt a lot ...especially about tyres and adhesion to road surfaces.. Following on from this guys feedback I will be re joining the IAM and taking my test...which, according to him I should have no trouble passing at a high level... sorry but Woohooo....there is nothing like being told you are doing something right...

  19. glad you didnt mispell peebo r u coming up the A141 towards march then heading north from there through up to wisbech and onwards? if so i can meet you just before where the A141 meets the A47, i'll just roll on behind, there'll be no need for a stop, unless you are feeling particularly old having ridden the whole 20 minutes from Huntingdon if its anouther route up just let me know, i dont care where we hook up cheers Yeah...you're all just a load of peebo's...... Mandy plotted a route through P'boro and up Spaldwick way and past Boston......so we'll probably not go as far East as Wisbech Terry. The route is on the first page of the End of Season meet thread mate.......and I'll get Mandy to plot it on Google maps and link it later. Unless anyone knows a better route? Isn't that route I sent you a bit better using the A15? It's a lovely road from there to Lincoln...
