  1. Cambridge Printing Solutions has a good reputation for printing thesiseses (thesi?). They're near Marshall's motor group.
  2. I'll swap it for my CG125. [/unhelpfulness]
  3. 'Sup dudes. I had a little "unplanned dismount" some years ago and busted my fairing. I replaced it with a Chinese number but have recently got hold of the final OEM panel to complete the original (nearly). I couldn't find a decent rear pod thing so am going to have a go at repairing the old one. Here it is: It's not as bad as I remember which is a bonus however I'm a bit of a duffer at painting so could use some advice... The dinks under "ZX" are about 1mm deep - would a dob of filler primer bring this up or is it best to use a proprietary plastic filler or perhaps just bring it up with paint layers? I can't see a primer layer so presumably the paint is laid straight on the plastic... Ideally, I'd just touch up the scratches as the rest of it is pristine. Has anyone got any top tips? Cheers, Fro

    Rev counter

I'll second that - I bought a cheapie Chinese one - absolute kak.
  5. How do you get things so fabulously clean?
  6. Does it actually need a hone? If there aren't any ridges or what have you then just a little tickle with the stones to "break the glaze" should do.
  7. I tried that - keeps the rain off but it gets all stuffy and sweaty.
  8. My RST textile/leather mix gear was really good until I ripped a massive hole in the arse of it. I think most gear - including leather - can be waterproof so long as it's treated correctly.
  9. The OEM ones on my ZXR are steel.
  10. Anything?

  12. Have you got a link or pics?
  13. Mark - I'm an air rifleist (although I only really do paper punching) and it's pretty good fun. Whether waiting for hours in the cold and dark for a rat to appear is quite as much fun... I'm not so sure. However, there are some individuals who like that sort of stuff and would scrabble and claw each other to death for the opportunity to do it for you. For free. Fully insured too. If you can stomach some pretty vile attitudes to people who aren't white working class men, have a look at something like airgunforum and stick a post up. I guarantee you will have more offers than you can shake your plonker at.
  14. A what? I'm calling jiffy ignition - I reckon either the HT leads need a bit chopping off them or a coil is unhappy. Maybe even a duff battery.
  15. GoodBYE Cruel World - Pink Floyd (again).

    Charging my battery

What was that on Bob? My zx6r is a pain in the testicles - side panels off, seat off, petrol tank off (propped up at a minimum), frame brace off and then finally the battery is accessible. It's probably best part of 1/2 hour all in and there's an awful lot of plastic clips and semi-rigid fuel pipe to knacker in the process - not to mention dropping the tank. No chance I'd offer it as a free service. FYI - when I ran Halfords stores (prob about 5 years worth) the battery fitting "course" was half a morning of some bloke showing how it is done in a car park (on an easy car too). Now, I ran a few stores and in each one I had to foot hefty repair bills when one of the "qualified fitters" guffed it up by: not using a memory saver on a rover (ecu recode), failing to secure the battery clamp or terminals (smashy-smashy, sparky-sparky), or the trusted favorite - putting it on the wrong way round. In a garage you pay for their expertise, in Halfords you pay for the insurance against a f**k up.

    No.
  18. You try doing it with a 636: run, puff, run, puff, jump on, dump clutch, skiiiiid... Shit.
  19. Don't think it's just the ER5, I've not had a Kwak that'll go straight to second. Shame it's short as you could have made a go-kart or something.

    So...

What's your insurance like Mark? If I were you I'd be checking she'd signed all the H&S stuff and made sure she couldn't possibly stick a claim in.
  23. Some do arrive with trailers and vans but far fewer than road bike days in my experience. I still prefer the atmosphere of noddy days over any other. You get all sorts of people on all sorts of bikes and can get a good chat on.
