  1. I’m the same, shopping is something to be done as quickly as possible then leave, the worst is being dragged along clothes shopping by women, thankfully I learned very quickly to find an excuse, any excuse not to go when that was in the agenda. Shops should have clocks and if you haven’t finished shopping within three minutes of entering you should be barred for life. *I have other ideas involving spikes protruding from walls and flaming pits of lava Can these ideas extend to: A. People who dither in supermarkets with no one being able to get past them at the moment. B. People who decide to do their weekly grocery shopping in a petrol station causing a queue of people who just want to pay for their fuel behind them.
  2. I think they might bring out a new one now they’ve done an all new Fireblade, after all Yamaha bought out a very up to date R6 fairly recently, it would be nice to see the 600 class have a revival.
  3. Me, every time I'm forced to go shopping. I’m the same, shopping is something to be done as quickly as possible then leave, the worst is being dragged along clothes shopping by women, thankfully I learned very quickly to find an excuse, any excuse not to go when that was in the agenda.
  4. Probably a good time to check your numberplate is secured properly if your an Austrian biker, wouldn’t want it falling off in this route.....
  5. Nice bike!, really like CBR600RRs and R6s, hope you enjoy many happy miles on it.
  6. What is it you didn’t get along with? I just didn’t like how it handled, never felt confident in the corners on it, tried suspension set up, different tyres etc and still didn’t like it, moved it on for a Fireblade and instantly felt so much better.
  7. I’d say get the Kawasaki but that’s only because I had an R1 from that era (2004) and didn’t get on with it at all, the earlier ones I love and the latest ones are brilliant but the mid to late 2000s ones aren’t for me.
  8. In all essence you are using the wrong bike for town centre riding, big CC/BHP and slow don't really mix It’s not all down to big CC/BHP. A lot depends on the relationship of torque/revs and BHP/revs. My 1250 develops a lot of torque at relatively low revs and max BHP at 9000 revs. I have no problems with low speed town driving. In fact 6th gear will go down to 35ish. It’s not to do with the engine size as much as the style of bike and how it’s set up imo, I’ve ridden an F800R in town which was great, equally a lot of other bigger more powerful bikes are too. The issue is more with the modern superbikes, a few years ago they were designed to be good on the road, the latest ones aren’t at all, they’re designed for the track and being able to go as fast as possible around one with lights, indicators etc as an afterthought, they don’t like town riding, are very hard suspension wise and are very thirsty, saying all this they can still be brilliant on the road but only for certain types of rides, I love mine but I’m the first to say it’s definately very flawed as a daily form of transport!. Dynax you can borrow it for some extended 30 MPH riding and some tight u turns if you like .
  9. This is very true, you should do the speed that is safe for the conditions. At the same time it’s very hard to keep some bikes at lower limits, it’s possible to do but they absolutely hate it, my bike can’t stand town riding, it protests by running extremely hot and being jerky, if you’re going through a town centre at 20 MPH you have to pull the clutch in and coast it/slip it a bit because it wants to stall, which is probably the reason I don’t use it for commuting, driving a car, even with the traffic is more enjoyable.
  10. I own a modern superbike and do enjoy riding it on the road and like trackdays too but I agree with you, riding around the Isle of Mann would be an amazing experience but it looks incredibly risky and it’s not something I think I’d want to do personally, same with the Nurburgring on a bike, looks far too dangerous with the lack of run off in some parts, but if people do want to do it, I’m not sure how I feel about legislating against it either.
  11. 4 stroke 125s aren’t much fun, a 2 stroke 125 is better but a 2 stroke 250 is better still!, preferably made by Aprilia or Honda if you can find one: http://raresportbikesforsale.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/MCs-2.jpg
  12. She certainly manages fine!, I know someone of similar size and she manages a newer shape R1 fine, can’t get her feet flat on the floor to save her life though .
  13. It's more curiousity to see what its like, I can't see me swapping it either, if it was an RVF1000RR not a CBR1000RR though I'd have swapped it already . GSXR looking good mate, you'll have it run in and ready to be used fully in no time!
  14. I’ve got all of that on mine and the one I use/like the most is the quick shifter/blipper it’s great not needing the clutch on downshifts.TFT dash is cool but like you I’d be just as happy without. Still not used the launch control on my bike, I did on my previous one once, might try it on mine at some point but it’s not as great as you’d expect to be honest. Heard only good things about the new GSXR though, hope you enjoy the new bike . I’ve got a test ride on a different bike in a couple of weeks, small possibility I might be re joining the inline 4 club!, it will have to be pretty special to tempt me off the Panigale though. Oooh intersting! Not sure where you can go from a V4 - 'down' I think is the only answer. Why the interest in condiserinf alternatives? I did really want a different V4, the only trouble is Honda didn’t bother to release one this year, I’m interested in seeing what the new Fireblade is like but I doubt it’s going to tempt me off the Ducati to be honest, I’m happy with my bike and will most likely keep it another couple of years.
  15. Thanks for the heads up!, it shouldn’t be a huge issue, while it’s a smaller one it’s not taking the piss, just a bit smaller than standard. No worries! Went out for a ride earlier, 2 bike patrols on the A24 southbound after Dorking and 2 more near Box Hill. Didn't see any in West Sussex I saw them on my way back from Sussex last week, on the dual carriageway opposite the Esso station before the roundabout with the chicken on it, cars and bikes, seems that’s where they’re lurking now that further up towards Rykas is all average speed cameras, I don’t really bother with Box Hill anymore, usually just ride straight past it, the road up to Newlands Corner is nice though!.
  16. Nice, by the sound of it you went for the higher spec version?, looks good . I went out for a great blast with a couple of others last weekend, think you’d have enjoyed it!. Hopefully doesn’t take long to get it run in. Yeah - the R. Over the standard version it has a quickshifter/blipper, launch control which I am psyched to use, special imu cornering abs thing, showa balance free forks which are meant to be unreal, inverted dash (not tft but that doesn't really bother me tbh), braided front lines. It's a 600 mile run in, I'm at 400 miles so basically there I’ve got all of that on mine and the one I use/like the most is the quick shifter/blipper it’s great not needing the clutch on downshifts.TFT dash is cool but like you I’d be just as happy without. Still not used the launch control on my bike, I did on my previous one once, might try it on mine at some point but it’s not as great as you’d expect to be honest. 17. Noticed you live in Surrey, be careful with regards to a smaller plate, Surrey Traffic Police have been going all out on plates and bikers in general the past two weeks: Thanks for the heads up!, it shouldn’t be a huge issue, while it’s a smaller one it’s not taking the piss, just a bit smaller than standard.
  18. Fitted the tail tidy I ordered in the week, makes the back of the bike look so much better: Ordered a slightly smaller plate which hasn’t arrived yet but will make it look better still. Went on a brief ride but it was quite busy out, did manage to take out quite a few flies though:
  19. Just did yeah. 20200523_191320.jpg Nice, by the sound of it you went for the higher spec version?, looks good . I went out for a great blast with a couple of others last weekend, think you’d have enjoyed it!. Hopefully doesn’t take long to get it run in.
  20. You buying one?, they’re meant to be really good from what I’ve heard.
  21. I'd not worry about it, they won't know how long its been here, you're Italian, have an Italian licence and bike and have visited the UK and are heading home as far as they're concerned, make sure you're insured etc back at home and legal to ride and go for it.
  22. Finally got round to ordering a tail tidy, hopefully it arrives by the weekend and doesn't prove too irritating to fit, ordered a slightly smaller plate to go with it too.
  23. You know what works even better?, driving a petrol car , I know this wasn’t particularly helpful, I drive a diesel but I hate EGR valves and DPFs!. DPFs are ok as long as you drive it like you stole it. I’ve thankfully not had a problem with mine yet, am quite lead footed though!.
  24. Mr muscle oven cleaner makes light work of EGR valves You know what works even better?, driving a petrol car , I know this wasn’t particularly helpful, I drive a diesel but I hate EGR valves and DPFs!.
  25. Went out for the entire day with a couple of others, stuck to social distancing only really stopped for petrol, some lovely enjoyable scenery, what I saw of it anyway .
