  1. Klim although I think its priced above Rukka http://www.klim.com/Cat/Outerwear/Gender/Men/SubCat/Jacket-Non-Insulated/Passion/Motorcycle
  2. If it helps I went through 3 instructors when I did my licence, first ones where big school and crap second and thrird where smaller and good. If you have done 3 schools in 2 years I did 3 schools in 3 months...
  3. Kind of buggers my 10 days.. I had nothing booked (never do) was thinking an escape to see my sister near Cannes... INstead it looks like I will have some more mundane work to do...
  4. Thanks for advice I managed today to find some 5xl trousers that should fit. My man was very helpful ( http://www.bikers-yard.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; he sold me my first bike gear THE OWNER has always been helpful (even if online they are not the greatest) good condition second hand for £30 so panic over for now. Luckily a friend who I seeked for advise pointed out she was a biker girl now and when she wants cloths think 2 sizes bigger than your dress size. My other half was dismade to find she was right, female biker sizes are smaller than dress sizes.... Apraently being female and going up 2 sizes IS an issue even if its in clothes and not real life (top tip for other blokes there)..... Same friend recomended https://www.jtsbikerclothing.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for all size biker clothing no return issues...
  5. I am just going to add that cheap new will also be ocnsidered if there some good recomendations. Are there any good shops MIlton Keynes Bicester way?
  6. My long suffering other half against her better judgment today, agreed to go on the back of me bike The problem is trousers my original jacket and helmet fit fine but trousers are a problem. We only went round the block and she wore jeans but as we managed that much and she is will do more... We could do with some CHEAP large size trousers ladies 50 ish would be great, my mens 3xl did not fit They do not need to be supper dooper this could be an expensive excersive as if she likes it it will be time for another bike . She is VERY uncertain how she will like it but after trip round block needs better trousers anything with protection considered.... Its an uncertain start so do not want to invest to much as until yesterday it was "YOU WILL NEVER GET ME ON THAT THING" she has not seen traffic or speeds greater than 25 mph yet.
  7. I just clicked on the add this calendar button and it seemed to add it to my Google calendar...
  8. Think I am going to nominate the driver of an Audi A6 who sat in the outside lane.... I sat for a whilst in the middle lane thinking its not worth the effort. Finally I catch up with car in middle lane so pullout behind Audi... As Audi clears car in middle lane I reduce distance between me and Audi to indicate I would like to go passed, nice kind driver goes for a nice big brake test..... That would not be enough for the nomination it was when I thought f**k sit in middle lane or inside not behind this guy. Shoulder check its clear I signal in, he goes for a single left and swerves into middle lane with a bit of brake lights (no slowing this time). At this stage I drop a gear slow and he moves back into the outside lane, I move into the empty inside lane I can see him turning his head looking for me, I use the inside lane to undertake him and keep checking mirrors to check he's not playing chase... From what I could see there was another car up his arse and his game was continuing....

  12. I did similar and doing 2 CBT's I found very useful, I was much more confident on road and bike...
  13. Well all the parts arrived a couple of weeks back but had not got round to strippong wires soldering etc. Finally finished by putting the wiring on the bike... Hopefully the present cold weather will be the last chance I get to use it for a whilst. I was out tonight to a local bike night. Does it work oh hell yes, a few niggles to sort out (pad positioning) but I was out with 2 thin base layers (heat pads sandwiched between the 2 and a thin jumper)... Even on dual carriageway doing 70mph I was warm enough, including my feet. I have not done a wet test yet on a pad thought I would try it before destroying components... The larger pads do not get as warm as the smaller ones so I have not installed a controller, trying to keep it simple. If people are interested I will post pics and what I have learned so far in the making...
  14. OK Not much experience on this... Last years summer gloves spliit after first season... I read this article: http://www.motorcyclenews.com/promos/shop/2015/august/top-five-pairs-of-short-gloves-on-the-mcn-shop-for-under-50/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and bought a pair of these: http://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/mcn/content_prod/113789/#/500,2113,767" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; For the price for the type I cannot fault, there sizes are big! Previous gloves I am 3xl or 2xl these I am a medium but I like them...
  15. If it makes you feel better I am on the divide of 2 groups.... I might pick up one or 2 more I have dreams of finishing the SW group but I can see this being the start of a slow decline down the table . With summer days due my priorities change, I might ride all year but until now 12 hours on the bike has not been a overly prospect (to me anyway)....

  17. I think the OP asks a good question when does a chain need changing? What tell tail signs? I have Scotoiler and my chain (believed to original) is still going strong at 26,000 miles (I get it looked at by a mechanic from time to time)... What tell tail signs do I look for? I can see few signs of wear the cogs look healthy enough? What do you look for? I understand asking how long a chain lasts is a bit like asking how long a tires last ..
  18. Just give me a moment while I cross you off my list ... there you go. Yep still friends.
  19. If they charge less I still think we fight for individually marked bays with ground anchors to secure bike to... After all Push bike stands all have securing points for the bikes and when are they going to start charging them? I once did a pay as you park thing over the phone... Walk to machine it will not take one of my pound coins, bugger it I will try this fangled pay by phone idea. I started walking back to car whilst on phone initially countless personnel details given. I get to car start sorting my stuff get ready becoming more audibly frustrated with the info needed by the "system" or the "security" we need a code number from the the machine. Back I went it took over 5 minutes to give them all the details. They then charged me extra for the "convenience"! then asking would I like to set up an account so can use this service again. One bad experience puts you off these things for life...
  20. Ever thought that the F! companies would only allow it if they would be happy with the results....
  21. I got these tyres end of June or early July by the look of it (date I started this thread), the bike has been stored mainly in an unheated garage but have had 1 or 2 nights in a frost. Since they where new they have always been buggers for picking up flints and stones and burying them. This one was obviously the most critical, I hope to have a look at the tyre once its off the bike and see whats at the bottom of it, will see if I can get any good shots.
  22. Mitchel PR4 on order to be fitted Friday... Will update this thread next time...
  23. It has crossed my mind.... The thing is I am not really going off road I avoid entering gravel carparks etc when ever possible.... What you get allot of is places like this: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@50.7970279,-1.6062923,3a,80.8y,136.32h,61.59t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sDqnJZ1gf9va_5-CFD1F-kg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656 Where cars etc drag the gravel out of the car parks on the way in and out, the Smart Rider 2's just seemed to pick it all up... Looks like PR4's
  24. Stu I agree about no need but as they are same price would they be any better? Death of a tire.... http://i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u654/onesea/20160315_093828_zpsga011m5d.jpg http://i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u654/onesea/Bike/20160315_093824_zpsjvkdtpqm.jpg The second photo also shows clearly all the dimples where stones pieces etc where the tyre was constantly picking up stone pieces etc.. Front and back where as bad
