  1. And when you get to a roundabout/ junction follow a car until you are certain you are riding on the right..... As for the stickers on helmet thing... Earlier this year I was following a mate home who had just been to France, he had stuck on the stickers. We road together for about an hour in the dark, the next day I found the stickers that came with my lid and put them on. If you ride regularly of a night I would recommend them, although my lid has enough white on it to make them hard to see in the day...
  2. I have that one for £16. I thought for £16 is got to be worth a try......it wasn't I remember reading somewhere that the quality cheap chinese copy manufactures SJ have have problems with cheap chinese imitators giving them a bad name For £16 did it do WIfi pictures to phone?

    Secret Santa

I was kicking myself for not joining in on this but now I am thinking I am glad I did not. I could never match this imagination... Looking forward to seeing the rest...
  4. I cannot help with sprocket brand... I bought from Demon Teaks as I trusted them to be ok . As for soft link to looks similar to the one I used.. Although you are only 45 minutes away by bike, I am down in the New Forest not a million miles. If I was not tied up for christmas I would be asking when you are doing it any problems shout and I will see if I can come up to help. I have PM'd you, we will have to meet up...
  5. Thats where I broke my tool, its surprisingly easy to over tighten it seems. I was lucky enough to have a couple of motorbike mechanics check my rivet out and say its fine... The chain i bought had specs for size of rivet when finished, I did not quite get there but trusted mechanics said it was fine... Slowly and keep checking seems to be the way. I don't have anyone to check for me so I expect pics at some point If you popped your approximate location on your profile, you might be surprised what offers of help you get....

  7. IF you have the time I would not worry about buying a grinder until you have tried pressing the pin out... I took my time lining up the tool and it came out a breeze, I had a grinder but getting power to my garage was going to be difficult so it would mean pushing the bike 100m back and forth so i just tried it and it was not difficult... If you have not used a chain breaker this video might help... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vhZTQDx8i0
  8. I got one of these: http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorcycle/chain-sprocket-kits/bike/yamaha/2005/fz6-fazer/d-i-d-upgrade-chain-and-sprocket-kit-premium-x-ring-chain-gold-heavy-duty As I recall.. If you don't have center stand (I dont) you will want paddock stand, lots of degreaser (although yours looks cleaner than mine :/ ) and Swarfega.. If I can do it anyone can...
  9. GoG I am not making any suggestions as to Tag's. I suggested a similar idea for a local version and seemed to of volunteered myself to set the locations, I get given lots of ideas then do some home work and have to explain well actually.... You know there is a gravel driveway, the Cafe is closed, that bridge is on an A road with no stopping permitted (the fleeting view might be wonderful)... Keep up the good work.... PS Have I missed the 2017 Registration thread?
  10. Novice yes no issues my FZ6 S2 I did easy with this video.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BYq-dHYCg4 Although I did not bother grinding, the tool just pushed the pin out without any effort. I figured as I had lots of links to try on I could afford to get it wrong once or twice... Just plan on a full day it should not take that long but you can always go for a ride with the spare time...
  11. http://www.grannybuttons.com/.a/6a00d83451b11469e20120a608f6a2970b-pi Problem solved put it on the bow... Before anyone says thats a Wide beam boat a couple of mods you could do the same with a Narrow Beam boat...
  12. I bought this one, could I recommend? It removed the pin with no grinding required, then I broke it riveting the heads. When I rode my bike to a mechanic down the road to finish it off he would not rivit it any more or I could end up with a tight link! So it did the job & broke (they sent me another as a replacement, without ANY fuss) and saved me time and money in the problem your having... Hard to say if I would recommend but at that price if you dont mind a wait IF it breaks its hard to knock. https://www.rydestore.com/ryde-motorcycle-chain-breaker-riveter-repair-kit.html
  13. As a FZ6 owner if your chain can touch the swingarm underneath I would say its too slack. Then others would disagree. http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php?topic=13651.0 Adjusting the chain is easy enough, I would suggest doing that before a ride. I would try manually straightening the link, if that's possible and rolling wheel round. If noise is reduced you know you are looking in right area. A little extra lube it might soften the link? If link is difficult/ impossible to straighten by hand then I would suggest new link and chain tool are more urgent.
  14. Well it looks in better condition than mine when I changed it Trying to think if mine still has that click when I roll it back, I really cannot say... Certainly the tone of it did change when the chain was loose. Front Cog
  15. I have FZ6 S2 it did similar with old chain and sprockets by the time I changed them they where well shot.... Check your chain adjustment I have Scotoiler and have to do mine every 1000 miles or so... If its FZ6 S2 its real easy to access front sprocket to have a look, 3 allan bolts...
  16. How ironic the way he gets caught.... Nice ending though.
  17. Note I said intentional Wheelies and Stoppies... Unintentional Wheels 2 up on Trophy are not uncommon.. I once managed one on my 125 when I came out of a junction a bit sharp straight at the curb the other side of the road . I also managed an accidental stoppie on the my Mod2 After hazard avoidance I was going a little quick and only just stopped in time for the cones.. Back wheel came up and got it down before I started to loose my line. Not certain how I passed, I got one right rollicking form the examiner my instructor was struggling to keep a straight face.... The FZ6 seems to keep its front wheel down quite well, which I should not complain about! I guess that has put me off trying for the last couple of years... Now I have a curiosity.. I know if I get front wheel up I need to cover back brake but are there any good guides instructions out there..... On quite roads away from people etc before the any PC set sets in......
  18. OK Today I did something a little bit naughty but nice... A little burn out... I thought they where meant to be difficult? it really was not... Although it did square up an already square tyre nicely... So the next question has to be intentional Wheelies and Endows and other such things how hard are they?

    Secret Santa

My family do not live within 50 mile of each other in fact some are countries apart. My daughter thinks it great for the last 3 years she has got Christmas presents as late as August. Just dont let the gits hold you to ransom... Unless it's the motorbike tyres that should of arrived last Sunday That means I wont go to see mum (normally a bike run) as I cannot be arsed with ques in the car on the A34, M40, M6 etc on the way north....
  20. My 2p worth on this is do not buy the best first time... Buy reasonable gear that fits. You will want a second set when you know what you like and don't like, at that point you can buy better. Jacket & Boots what length? Waist trousers or ones that come up higher? Lid Drop down sun visor? Pinlock? Flip Top? Open face (not my choice)? Jackets long or short? Many choices and only when you start riding do you know really what you want.. Summer gloves and winter/ waterproof gloves is a good option I usually carry both... Its the UK if its raining your hands will appreciate the warmth even in summer... Heated grips? When it comes to waterproof if it does not say Gortex it is probably not that waterproof, certainly when it comes to breathable waterproofs. As others say keep an eye out on EBay/ Gumtree second hand shops etc I saw a full set of Rukka (looked like in good nick to) go for £150 the other week. There is a local shop here that sells old stock and second hand trousers and jackets second hand at very good prices some deals to be had, is there one near you? Helmet I would buy new unless its good condition new you REALLY KNOW its history AND its VERY CHEAP, if not is it worth the risk?
  21. Christmas shopping best done in a pub with free Wifi, get a few people together and you would be amazed what you can find... Still going to Winchester Christmas Market to take in the festive spirit with misses, we will be on the bike then we cannot buy anything

    bike mags

I am the same with Sailing Mags, no way I could afford the boats they review. The practical advice they offer is often based around new starters not those who have been sailing for a whilst, the new gear is distinctly less interesting (that could be an age thing?). On the other hand I have a subscription Ride but I have not been riding that long. So the new bikes and developments are of interest even if I cannot afford them.
  23. I have S5 Neo waterproof without flaps... Does not have finger recognition. For the price a cracking phone. As for screen protectors, you get what you pay for...... The modern glass ones work well, feel like the real screen, A good silicone rubber case and glass protector I would consider essential... One without the other probably not such a good combination. Whatapp is excerlent and video calls I just dont use....
  24. I started with a lidl set which worked but did not like conversations at speed (fine by me). Then my misses started coming pillion and we wanted music and intercom simultaneously, best we could find was packtalk. Not cheap but has voice commands to phone and unit. It's not brilliant and is about as good as you can get it works for us. On my own I was happy enough with the £20 lidl set.
  25. Why do you have that idea?
