Anti fog lenses anyone??
onesea replied to daveinlim's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
I use either anti bacterial wipes, or the divers technique. Might not look pretty but does help a bit. -

I have always found GumTree slow but reliable and free, often with sister listing on FB as classified. Wait until classified add is passed often people wait till it’s not sold then make an offer - sometimes silly some times sensible.

Not certain I like that statement, it could be considered that it makes me sound sensible. Inwill try and remedy this with future advice. Have you considered a RocketIII Enoughbtorque to haul the fatest ass up the best mountain Scotland can supply.

You want a bike for a commute in wet windy conditions. You don’t mention distance. My thoughts would go to: Fairing - don’t go fully naked it’s more tiring, cold and wet, Fuel consumption - it soon mounts up, Bag carrying - top box or panniers, there is always something to go to work from time to time. Sit up position - is much more comfortable and better visibility in traffic, From Top of head: Honda NX700 / 750 - sensible all rounder, Enfield Himalayan, Mt07 tracer (faired version), MT09 tracer - fuel consumption up TDM 900 -old bikes now Africa Twin Sit on EVERY bike you can see what feels right, then be patient. Oh and don’t buy from Superbike Warehouse

Lets play a little game of 'fun with roundabouts'.

Sadly I am working and a rather long way away so cannot be there. I have been before about 5 years back there was snow on the ground on my way back home great ride but chilly. I also have other irresponsibility to deal with this year -

Being a responsible adult is not theme common amongst motorcyclists… I would start naming names but I am likely to get in trouble on here. Most likely for omitting names, not including them. My suggestion New Brighton Dips, between duties. You might get stuck in traffic and be a couple of hours late. “Growing old is mandatory but growing up is optional” - Walt Disney -

The problem with that roundabout is not the entrance or your road position in EITHER route red or blue. The problem is the exit! The screen shot shows a typical day a car exiting from the junction just after the lights with parked cars passed that. They block the left red lane the blue lane then doesn’t want the left red lane merging. However the pedestrian lights as an added challenge as is often the case one lane or other will be blocked or empty. Then it’s down to traffic 2 lanes safely merging with everyone playing nicely and politely. In fact it turns into cut throat traffic light dragsters before the parked cars - Often abruptly halted by the car pulling out of the junction on the left or the bus at the bus stop, or little old lady with shopping trolly. On the bike position traffic awareness look for a gap, ride to be seen, ride with purpose. They are probably being dicks and bullies, particularly if you have L Plates. In the car I create a middle lane so in effect making it single lane, with no option of traffic light dragsters. I don’t think it’s uncommon thing, infact google shows just that. Partially maybe what you being beeped for - When quite rightly as I would choosing the empty lane and filtering up merging in traffic, after forcing - sorry creating a safe gap. Can I suggest if you want to experience it in heavy traffic conditions when I can assure you only the brave or very stupid driver would challenge you. Head over to the Dips New Brighton, at about 10am On the 6th of April this year and have afew hours spare. -
Personally back packs are not good on bikes, wind age is tiering. Plus in the event of a slide you have nothing pointy or bulky to damage you.

Who would buy a branded balance bike for the kids?
onesea replied to GL Moto's topic in General Chat
I bought one for my daughter, when she was young. Yes it helped her start riding. However they are not along term investment, it’s matching in with competitors: -
However how often do you stretch the shifts out so the 5 shifts have a minimum of 14 and up 24 hours between them. Sometimes they treat you so you get as little as 11, so your body clock has to go forward and backwards in a run of 5 shifts. It's a 5 day rota where no 2 shifts are at the same time. Frequently with meal breaks that are in the latter 1/4 of the shift or not at all. Overruns at the end of shift frequently, it's not uncommon to get an hour or 2 occasionally 3. Just been checking my next run of shifts, they have "requested" I move my 12-2200 to a 2030 start. The next day being the start of annual leave... The problem is if I don't agree they will come up with some secondary plan that will be worse Is it a wonder people are reducing there hours or leaving...

However is a day not meant to be 24 hours long? I have fought them over this afew years back, we would finish at 0630, then start again at 0600 the next day. They called and classed the 23.5 hour in the middle as a day off.
-
Oh don’t even start on that one. For years they didn’t pay extra you worked the extra hour for free . Because you might be on the shift you get the hour off for free next year.

Well I thought I would updated, my 3 year old abused £20 gillet started to play up. So I upgraded: To This for £25 and I could zip the hood off. I have used for various bits including sailing but today was its first cold weather bike test. T shirt heated jacket and Textile jacket, only a 45 minute ride. Lesson learned, don’t turn the heating on on your back, I arrived with a sweaty back.

Just out of intrest I am seeing how many people agree.

Oh I can think of a few bikers I would buy it for... At least one of their bikes would get out off their garage at regular intervals
-
That's the thing I have against the one above. Some off the reviews says a few weeks later it was flat. If it's going to be battery powered, it needs to work 6 months later when I actually need it.
-
My thinking is not so much for when on the road, it's for home. My car tyre pump has died. My Garage doesn't have power so pumping tyres has meant riding bike to car and using it's power to run pump. If bike battery does end end up flat I don't need to remove battery too charge or move car to bike to jump start. It may also run a 12v pump for emptying my dinghy.
-
Anyone had any success with one of these? Jump pack battery inflator. My 12v tyre inflator just died might as well get jump pack/ tyre inflator?.. All advice gratefully received.
