  1. Yeah normally I am on the bike, someday's glad I have the car. The idea of 30 minutes in driving rain to and from work dodging horses, pigs & horse muck in the dark is not attractive. I was going to take bike in Thursday regardless, I am at a site where it can take 20 minutes to park. However forecast says it will be all of the above and hassle force winds, the jury is still out.

    Whisky choices

I would not recommend the English whisky. https://thenorfolkhub.co.uk/portfolio-item/the-english-whisky-company/ We passed a distillery on holiday so we stopped. The salesmen started explaining to my other half how it was a good beginners whisky not to harsh. My misses then explained how she like Laggavulin, Jura Talusker etc the heavier peaty Whisky’s, let’s just say we didn’t buy a bottle. I did not disagree (I could not of got a word in edgeways). The salesman was left a little confused. Had you not of already chosen I would of looked in the cupboard to see what she would of recommend
  3. When you say hydraulic crimpers, this type will do? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265969512190
  4. Next your going to say it's a Blue estate as well! Believe me it was bought out of need. Even then it's not real enough. However it does help my nephew is a apprentice mechanic with Volvo.
  5. How did you guess, having had my last car trashed it ticked most the boxs and was right price...
  6. An man sat down in Starbucks and ordered a cup of coffee. As he sat sipping his coffee, a young woman sat down next to him. She turned to the pilot and asked, 'Are you a real pilot?' He replied, 'Well, I've spent my whole life flying biplanes, Cubs, Aeronca's, Neiuports, flew in WWII in a B-29, and later in the Korean conflict, taught 50 people to fly and gave rides to hundreds, so I guess I am a pilot - what about you?' She said, 'I'm a lesbian. I spend my whole day thinking about naked women. As soon as I get up in the morning, I think about naked women. When I shower, I think about naked women When I watch TV, I think about naked women. It seems everything makes me think of naked women.' The two sat sipping in silence. A little while later, a young man sat down on the other side of the old pilot and asked, 'Are you a real pilot?' He replied, 'I always thought I was, but I just found out I'm a lesbian.'
  7. There used to be a road (edge lane I think) with multiple sets of lights in Liverpool. If you got stopped by the first set then floored it to 60 as they changed (in a 30) you got every light on green. If you did 30 you got every light on red. You did have to remember to show for the speed camera on the 3rd or 4th set of lights. All good fun.
  8. At least it's not a newer 50cc they are restricted to 28mph.
  9. I have set of these: https://www.toolstation.com/minotaur-ratchet-crimping-tool/p46714? They work ok except for smallest wires. Do a better job than the cheap ones. However I am struggling to find someone to make up larger wire sizes, for the boat. As soon as I mention the last bit the price rockets. I need to come and measure that's £100 before you start. Trying to find online, is challenging. I can give the lengths and sizes, it's just getting them made up. It's too connect to batteries via a VCR. Are these sort of things any good? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185997007669? not trying to hijack the thread.
  10. Oh no disagreement there, if I get flashed by an on coming car I turn my height adjustment wheel and drop my lights... Motorcyclists and cyclists can be as bad, at this time of year. Lights set to high. Why do cyclists think they have the right to blind on coming vehicles. The problem frequently here with country roads, horses, cows sheep etc in the road is when dazzeled you end up driving blind. The other option is to stop, so as not to hit any animals. https://www.itv.com/news/meridian/2023-04-07/driver-who-struck-and-killed-pony-travelling-at-inappropriate-speed At £1600 and a ban, you could probably get away with less for a person... If dazzeled and have to stop I will stop in the middle of the road (Was blinded thought I saw an animal). Make the other person stop too.
  11. Having just got my first car with DLR's I am going to admit to doing this once or twice. - My DLR's are bright enough that you think you have your headlights on. - The switch for headlights is on the dash hidden behind your right arm. - As you rightly say your dash lights stay on all day. So yes now I have to think to put my lights on. All the normal clues to put lights on have been taken away. Strangely for me it is not when it's getting dark or poor visibility, then I normally remember them then. It's when I get in the car off a night.
  12. Sort of thing I would be interested in except the asthetics (and probably cost). 130 Mile range (50 miles each way) would cover most people's commute. Just needs to do 65 mph and maintain that up a decent hill. Acceleration faster than a car would be good for filtering and traffic light dragsters.
  13. Sounds like this one has been through the wars. Mine can be a funny bugger when it’s cold, it needs choke for a minute or so but don’t leave it on to long it won’t like starting at all.

  15. My spark plug looked ok if that's any help. I bought it first then changed it as I already had it. Street fighter is the way most go.
  16. Ok I have a 2007 CBR 125 as my fault commuter. Start with spark plug, mine went from running fine to rough starting & cutting out in 30 miles. After 2 weeks standing. Changing the spark plug fixed it. If the bike has full fairings they could be worth more than the bike. Try spark plug first see if it works, then look to service the rest. Atleast parts are cheap, and they are simple so good for honing mechanical skills. it's carb so even as dead bike has value. If you get it going they are quite fun to ride.
  17. Nokia XR20 or 21 mine survived being run over. And countless drops on to hard ground,
  18. I just went to a wedding It was so emotional Even the cake was in tiers.
  19. Silicone by it's nature is great resistant. I have seen an exhaust on a bike sealed on with bathroom silicone 12 months later was still good. "Most silicones have an operating temperature from -60°C up to +230°C." I am guessing any will do.
