https://www.amazon.co.uk/Clearance-Electric-Washable-Clothing-Heating/dp/B0DHZYJF63/ref=asc_df_B0DHZYJF63/ For the money you won't look back, I can run mine all day if a single phone charging battery on low. I have never needed more than low -
When I commuted to the city a bike passed me filtering cannot remember colour of bike but it was feminine. Wearing pink and purple, subtle feminine, long ish hair over jacket down back. I followed they where doing it well and I was relatively new on bike. Got to traffic lights they were turning right, I pulled up along side hidden behind the full chin bar was a bushy beard. I never worked out if he did it as traffic was less aggressive to females? On to helmets, I was advised that having some pattern / markers on your helmet makes you more visible as when you turn your head it attracts the eye. A friend fitted retro tape to his helmet for a trip to Europe and that certainly helped of a night. Hi viz probably does help and pink might be good colour second to oh shit is that a police officer colouring. However ask any emergency service driver if people look and the answer is no. How can they not see a 4ton truck with lights and sirens glaring? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c1d599793rro# As others say a human eye looks for what it wants or needs to see and most don’t think that way about bikers. Ride to be seen position to be seen, and change it to decrease chance of being behind an A frame, never arrive at a junction the same time as another vehicle when ever possible, position so you have an escape route or can minimise your impact in worse case. Watch for clues from drivers some don’t look, others don’t like bikes. I always watch cars on roundabouts if my head turns to look at them they often pullout. Don’t turn your head and they don’t know if you have seen them wanting to.

I hate to say from a proper forum, but join a local Facebook group. Search it and see which schools are recommended and not recommended. I had a similar experience with my first CBT, the instructor and I clashed. A change of school and another day I walked it. I came away confident and ready to ride, I haven't stopped. Within 4 months I had a full licence. I would probably would not have done it so quickly, if it wasn't for that first instructor. Who indicated I didn't have the skills to be on the road ever.

Just be careful iPhone and expensive phones don't like vibration on handle bars, it can kill them. I have never killed a phone by this method but Google your model to check. Once you have established if you have an error in your Speedo. You just learn to correct. If the police pull you you "What speed where you doing?" "30mph officer", end off even if you know it was nearer 40mph (maybe with a shameful look if guilty). They have to provide evidence otherwise and you take your punishment. If they have the evidence they will probably book you regardless. A few miles an hour difference on the Speedo they are never going to know. So no need to cloud the waters. Any admission "my speedo said but I know better" they can use as evidence and book you, so don't go there. I tend to hover at speed limit to plus 10% as generally I find cars less pushy. I rely on observation (and app warning) too reduce speed There is the old talk of leeway required off speed limit plus 10% plus 2mph. However Dorset, North Wales police (which are close to home for us) and other police forces deny this. If you are into reading and safety on the road try- Google: Road craft motorcycle. https://www.roadcraft.co.uk/motorcycle-roadcraft/ This is good for safe riding on the road and makes you think about all sorts of things. Maybe a bit heavy and a bit much to start with. If worried about cornering and going fast try - Google: A twist of the Wrist Cheesy but informative again, only when ready. -

You can get lucky talisman bells with "don't ride faster than your guardian angel can fly". My reading of that is "Don't ride faster than you feel your comfortable or capable." That is a golden rule, if you think your going to fast you are end of subject. My aunt just got a talisman for me, ironic considering her last injury was from her bike. She dropped the bike stationary (although we have all done it), she is 70 odd and been riding all her life. Taping into first when stopped just to check, nothing wrong with that in my book. As with tapping into top to check your in top when riding. Also taking your indicator off just to check you cancelled it, just think of it as not bad practice. Regarding actual speed and speed limits. Most of my bikes (and cars) speedos have read about 10% under the speed limit. So 33mph is actually 30 mph. I use this app on my phone: https://www.tomtom.com/en_gb/navigation/mobile-apps/amigo/ I have never used for navigation*. However, it can be set to start when it connects to chosen Bluetooth devices. For me my bike intercom and phone, that way it gives audible and visual warnings of hazards (traffic and speed cameras) as well as average speeds through areas with average speed camera zones. It can also be used as speedometer, full screen. Any new to me vehicle I check on a straight road to see how accurate my Speedo is. You can also set it to give audible alarms when at the speed limit or the speed limit plus 5%, 10% etc. I have mine set at 10% just to give me a nudge to be careful. It actually helps me enjoy the ride as I am not airways thinking about speed until it gives me a nudge. Where to ride and when to ride? Don't overthink it and don't build fear into certain rides etc First night ride I suggest on local roads but again don't over think it keep relaxed. *Next pleasure ride I go on I might try it it's now free it seems and has option of winding routes maybe roads I don't normally ride. -
I cannot be certain, however if you leave contact, details reg plate etc, I don’t think they can “fine” you. Particularly if you go back and pay or arrange transfer in good time. Most garages have a failure to pay form that gives you fair chance to return and pay - don’t ask how I know. https://www.paymentsolutionguy.com/payment-issues-uk-petrol-stations/ The least you should do is ask to see the garage policy on it, which they will be obliged to have.

Sorry really sad observation on this bit innit did they make the rule. Yet some how milk bottles seem to be exempt? How does that work? Let's make this rule, then oh no we need an exemption. Milk bottles the most commonly used bottle lets make that exempt.

Deer, Horses, pigs, sheep, badgers, cows year living near the new forest working shifts has its moments. Oh and to protect them the police run speed cameras at random times day and night. I have had a few near misses. Worse in the spring when the foals are about and not got reflective collars, with the tourist that stop randomly to photograph and pet them. Those unfortunate enough to hit one are subject to endless keyboard hate on the local FB groups.

Insured them £167 for the pair.

I had thought about this only sticky out bit will be propeller at a low height and inside line of handlebars and within the length of bike... It's plastic.

Since COVID people have become so self obsessed and selfish. With driving standards more so in the south, less so in the north. A recent road trip showed this, lane lane discipline better in north. I am pretty certain the same goes for attitude in life as well. Thought for those driving company vehicles, if your drive like a selfish idiot I expect you to treat your customers in the same way so I will look elsewhere. Plumbers, Builders, Electricians, domestic cleaners and oddly driving instructors without student seem to be the worst. There are plenty companies I would not choose for this reason. For those who have hands free "Ok Google cal xyz company" then describe the situation.

Round here direct access to water, round here costs millions. The local yacht club has an outboard shed, membership £400 odd a year, plus storage charge and waiting list for space in shed. Yeah I had been pondering electric but that was a whole different expense. Plus the harbour master won't allow solar arches on dinghies. FYI plan was one of these: https://www.electric-outboard.co.uk/product/haswing-protruar-2hp-electric-outboard-12v-with-digimax-controller/ Leaving lead acid batteries charging by large solar panel on arch. However in the next 12 months my life which is already in a tumble dryer looks like it's going west. So all logistics for boating are going to change.

Is there a legal limit to projections on a motorbike? I am considering making a rack to put my outboard on the bike. Thinking of mounting it vertically of the hangers on my Enfield. Something like this. There is a reason I ask, the local council are putting the annual parking charge from £220 odd pounds to £230 The previous year it went from £140 to £220, plus increased restrictions on use.

I had an experience afew years back I was driving a Triumph Vitesse Mums old classic car, a simple set of bends I had driven 100’s of times. Mildly moist should we say roads, nothing that would stretch a modern car. Next thing I know I am slip sliding away, the car in front no issues the car behind no issues. Car was well setup for its era however they just didn’t compare to modern standards. I got round the bend and the car behind stopped pushing, no harm no foul. Old cars you had to drive to the conditions, now days unless the weather or road is diabolical your speed is limited by your vision not grip. Other than the ability to stop before the hazard. Pillars and vision on modern cars is an issue my present estate is a nightmare for blind spots when reversing. I drove a friends car that I missed a whole HGV behind the front A frame. There is an issue there. Then there are seatbelts in town they are a PITA people sit back and no longer look forward to see further at junctions or around the pillars. The whole seating design seems designed to keep you put.

My usual bad advice... It can go everywhere. And give it gentle wipe where you can reach. Obviously avoid getting it on breaks and tyres but it will wear off. Just ride carefully, when I get it on brakes I ride with breaks on until I start to feel bite coming back normally takes minutes or 2. Also be careful around micro switches, they can go sticky. It really does creep into corners. First time you ride the bike will smoke and smell that's normal.

As the OP on this thread I figured I would comment. When I started this post there had been a rash of people doing just what you had, joining posting there channel and leaving. You have done better than them, you actually read enough to see the post vaguely about yourself. Many make there post “market” themselves and leave. As some one has said forums are about contributing not just V blogs etc that are 100’s of all over the net.

It works, well. I have ring door bell and ring stick up camera at the back. The battery life seems good, approx 6 weeks notification at 30%. The batteries take 12hours plus to charge, so I bought a 3rd so I can change and charge at will. Functionality seems good you can share cams to other users. My ring door bell is in glass porch it doesn’t detected motion outside the porch but that’s fine. If I wanted coverage at the front I would buy a camera to go outside the porch. Some couriers can drop post undetected. it all does as it says. They work on 2.5khz wifi, so make sure you have that in relevant places particularly with cams. By the nature you can find yourself on the edge of wifi coverage.

And there’s another, once he’s skimmed his you tube views I wonder how often he’ll be back? FYI he made it round, however he did some courses and auctioned his boat got given it back and gave it away. The bought another boat, which he sailed round the uk.

Glad I read back…. 1621 reviews in 2022, now 12,660. That’s 11,039 reviews in 2 years. That’s near enough 16 bikes a day, I suppose 3 bikes a day per branch? Those are only the sales that get reviews, most with named sales persons and response from Dan. Dan in response to one review said they are a company of 300 employees, that’s 60 employees per branch. Let’s say they are all part time (20 hours a week) and earn £12k a year on minimum wage, that’s a £ 3.5 million a year wage bill ignoring other costs. They must sell allot of bikes, how many are actually sold in the uk each year? The 3% bad reviews are worth a read. Interesting to note Fowlers only got 44 reviews over this period someone else can work out the relative increases.

Ok I am not a music buff and I don’t think I have posted on this thread… 18 months ago I started a Spotify subscription to get music on the go, other than the radio. Well I have bumbled along with it one massive playlist a couple of audio books etc… it’s always worked but never been ideal shuffle feature random and repetitive, music suggestions more of the same, lumpy on start up, afew other glitches. I have ended up on Apple Music, for a whilst and the difference? I was out for a ride Saturday. Put some music on and kept listening, no flicking songs new music and music I like. All from half a playlist imported songs (I have to pay 3rd party app to import full playlist from Spotify). Music seems clear. Down side is music doesn't sync across devices, you cannot play Spotify from your a Bluetooth speaker connected phone and change music from your tablet.

Got to agree tried all the manic potions, I just use my glove. Then helmet is 2 years old and visor is no longer perfect. It’s clear enough, so that does me.
