Err

A bit harsh. Consider the existential crisis a bloke must square up to given a set of ME22 tyres and just one piece of cheese.
3. No quiche for you tonight Mr goat.

Proper DRZ territory.
5. Ta all. Good advice. Yeah, I think it will be possible to wrap the joist to prevent oil seeping into the new board.
6. Was going to bed last night, when I noticed a stain on the bedroom ceiling . So up into the loft this morning. It turns out that there's a small cylindrical red tank about 2 foot long which seems to be part of a hot water solar system that had been removed before we ever moved in. I'd seen it there before, but just left it as it was fixed and seemed to be harmless enough. Recently though, this tank has corroded and started leaking... oil. And it's now found its ways into the bedroom ceiling. I removed the tank, cleaned up the oil in the loft and cut out all the oily insulation. But what I'm left with is an oily joist and some oily plasterboard: The bread knife gives an idea of the scale. Downstairs in the bedroom, the stain in the ceiling is about 9" by 3". It's very slightly oily to touch. I've got to the point where it's not going to get much worse, but the question is how to make it any better? I'm thinking to leave leave it for a month or so and see if the ceiling dries out a bit. If so, paint over with Zinsser, otherwise, cut out the bad board, replace with new and plaster over.

smallfrowne Glad you've made it away and got an Erdinger into you. Hate to think what might have happened without that. Looks like a good trip. Posh too: Waitrose crisps and private henge.
9. Great write up Bungleaio. The bike looks awesome. Really chuffed for you. Completely jealous too
10. ... I can almost smell the dew on the grass
11. Looks like a great trip Rob
12. Bungleaio And could you add something the IAM discount? Ta
13. Blimey Bungleaio that was quick work. Did you part exchange the Z? Or can I have it? Where have you been on it? Sounds like you're using it for what's meant for It took me a while to get used to the weight, but then it became second nature. Best bike I've ever owned.
14. Like the goat says, where'bouts are you?
15. Oh man. That's weeks down the drain on the phone and filling out forms. All to get yourself some higher premiums. That truly sucks.
16. This ad is for the factory lowered version (I've ridden both; the lowered version rides just as well as the normal height one). If your friend is smaller like me (I've a 30" in seam) they might be interested. All it needs is panniers and it's good to go. Cracking price, I reckon. https://approvedused.bmw-motorrad.co.uk/uk/detail.cshtml?on=443672
17. I had the R1200GS TE. The 1250 is the later version with larger engine, a few more bhp, and more electronic toys: TFT screen, phone connectivity, active suspension. Minuses: Parts fail or wear out reasonably often, and when they do, it's expensive. For example: new rear shock on the 1200: £1600 (no, it can't be serviced). New headlamp unit: £1000. The only way to stay solvent is to ensure you have some kind of guarantee in place that will cover you for parts failure. If you get an "Approved" used bike from BMW, it comes with 2 years free warranty. You can also buy an extended warranty for around £400 a year (until some age limit - 8 years iirc). It's more than worth it. BMW customer service is patchy. Some dealers are great. Others seem to treat you more as a walking wallet. Read the reviews online and find a dealer who looks after you well. It's a bit heavy to push around or pick up off the floor. If you're paying £16k for a bike, why do you have to go and buy a fender extender and a replacement screen? Probably need engine bars too, to protect those cylinder heads. Pluses: It's an amazing bike (and the 1250 is meant to be even better). It will easily take your friend down to the south of Spain in great comfort, even 2 up and fully laden. And when they get there, it will play around on twisty roads as effortlessly as any other bike there, and more easily than most. It really does everything, and it does it all really well. It is huge fun, and will make you feel like a great rider. It will even go off road
18. Spot on or near enough: Walberswick, just the other side of the river. Ghostship is good. But I'm a philistine: nothing quite like London Pride.

20. Gutwrenching beautiful. The tarmac, I mean. The scenery's ok too.

Toyota Aygo

Have you looked at a Kia Picanto? I had one of the first ones they made - first class car: really reliable, cheap as chips, surprisingly ok to drive too.

Did I miss something - when did you get this CG? Is it any good? What you going to use it for?
