  1. The HOGGS TOP THEORY TEST TIP is for the stupid clicking thing, click when you see the hazzard (a car coming down an side road) click again when it develops (hmm that side road car isnt slowing down) then click again when the hazard has developed (arrgghhh wtf crazy side road car). Don't go crazy with the clicks but I failed my first theory test on the hazard stuff because I was terrified of overclicking and think I clicked too early on a lot of them so got nill point. A couple of clicks as the hazard develops will hopefully ensure you get at least a couple of points (think the second time I got 63 so more clicking is better just don't click in a pattern or when there's nothing on screen!)
  2. Awesome well done! Also I'm sure at least half of us have had this thought - I know I did on my test
  3. Top stuff Phil - on to the mod 2 now which is the easy bit
  4. " for show purposes only "
  5. oooooh keep us updated, think the black wheels are going to make a massive difference!
  6. Practise is always good as long as you don't get to the point of frustration! My other TOP HOGGS TIP! is remember it's not a race, take your time between the elements, lots of deep breaths because as soon as you get nervous and tense up it will make it harder. The bike will start to feel like it's going to fall if you are going too slow or turning too tight so keep the turns as wide as the course allows and don't let the revs drop too low
  7. Currently Eurosport is all men in spandex that's why
  8. As above just try and keep your head up as much as possible, on the figure of 8 make it nice and wide (wait I have a diagram somewhere...) Best advice I had for this was do not think you have to keep a tight figure of eight, you've got a lot of space so use it! You may get a minor if you go really really wide but you will fail if you put your foot down by trying to turn too tight! Also after you come out the slalom try and make the crossover point as close to the top cone as you can, this will give you more space to cross back through and also try and keep the ride between the cones as straight as possible. Keep your head up and after you have made the turn pick a spot in the distance (on the test you can use some of the cones that are about to keep you nice and straight) I have drawn you an amazing diagram to explain this! I am aware it has a slight boob-ness about it.... Yellow are the slalom cones, blue are the figure 8 cones and the green Xs are to show where I was advised to look before you make the turn (making the turn keep head up and pick your target point exactly like in the U turn) http://i.imgur.com/gpLWb6B.jpg This really worked for me and the people I was training with so may be helpful Once you start looking up rather than at the gorund you should find the bike turns better and you can nail the other parts. Mod 1 is about combating your nerves as much as it is about control! Good luck!

  13. Hello! Theory test is valid for two years - what you need to know though is when you do your mod 1 that is only valid for as long as your theory so you don't want to do the theory too soon as if it runs out before you pass mod 2 you have to do mod 1 again! There's an official book with all the questions in - I imagine you could pick one up on ebay. Good luck!
  14. Maybe I won't tell anyone my name and everyone can call me Beefy! I'm calling you beefy forever
  15. Couple more collected today! Enysford castle - bugger to find! 19. Hello! So as you know a cbt is only valid for 2 years. As you're over 24 you can do the Direct Access Scheme (DAS) You will need to do your theory test before mod 1 The DAS is comprised of the same elements as a restricted test - the only difference being what you can ride at the end. The test is in two parts Mod 1 is the slow speed manoeuvres Mod 2 is your road test Really you want to do the das this will mean you can ride anything you like forever. You will do the training on something like an er6 or gladius The best thing is when you go for your cbt chat to the instructors about the das. See what bikes they use and ask to sit on one to see how you feel. Once you're confident on a bike size isn't such am issue. The lovely Gin on here is a tiny little pixie and merrily zooms around on a HUGE triumph 1050
  20. Nicely Done Andy! This is where the real learning starts so take it easy and shiny side up
  21. I threw ours down the road and it still worked ok afterwards so they're pretty bomb proof Although we did have some issues with it cutting out off choke when you slowed down... think that was just carb related job which you could get on any carb bike (someone had a ninja with a similar sounding issue a while back - weirdly not mine that time ) Only downside is don't expect any acceleration at all after about 55 unless you're going downhill - which just means you have to forward plan better
  22. Sorry Mr B. Totes all Glorians fault.
  23. Dude just wait the couple days for your glasses. It's quite important to be able to read stuff like road signs and the like. Oh and you know see pedestrians and stuff.
  24. Good work and good luck on the mod 2
