  1. I know this is an ancient thread but here's my 2p worth . Buy any decent Chinese 125 that's CG 125 based and stick a 150 cc conversion on it . Oh , and don't tell anyone .
  2. Yes , I think we should allow passing places , particularly in remote areas .
  3. Just going through my photos . Here's a few more for you .
  4. Scammers seem to be attracted to small settlements in Scotland . I had one of those scary sounding messages purportedly from HMRC . When I looked up the code it had come from Lairg . I don't know if anyone's been to Lairg but apart from a few streets and a garage there's nothing much there . Except , that is , the famous Wee Hoose .
  5. Exactly .
  6. I'd just forget it and buy a different bike .
  7. I know what you mean but you could have worded that a little better .
  8. The Fairy Platinum Baby rides a red Sportster , and so do I .
  9. Don't touch it , especially with Bog Cleaner !
  10. Here's a nice one .

    Entertain me

That scream is a cross between Oliver Hardy and Tom from Tom and Jerry .
  12. That would depend on the design of the head gasket . If the ring portions of the gasket that seal the combustion chambers are thicker than the outer section then maybe the liners are supposed to be lower than the casing . Unfortunately , this is all conjecture because although I've worked on a few water cooled engines , I've not had my hands on one where the liners are directly surrounded by coolant .
  13. That chain looks as dry as a bone . You still have to lubricate the rollers even on an O ring chain . One issue I've always had with O ring chains is that they run relatively quietly even when they are completely shagged out . The sideways bend test will often reveal shocking levels of wear on an apparently serviceable looking chain ..

    Entertain me

Probably a bit late now but this gem entertained me . https://youtube.com/shorts/-wk_BvNl8CQ?feature=share
  15. I disagree , the sprocket shouldn't be rock solid . Many bikes have front sprockets that allow a degree of " Float " . What I do not like about this bike is the fact that the sprocket is held on by nothing but a Circlip but I've checked the parts catalogue and this is actually CORRECT .
  16. Do a spit check from cold on the down pipes to see if it's running on all four cylinders first .

    Entertain me

I don't know whether you are a fan of Karl Pilkington but I am an absolute devotee . Give this a go .
  18. Here you go . Bags of power in that trusty ER5 engine .
  19. Actually the most recent advert for a motorcycle on British TV that I am aware of was for the Harley Davidson Pan America . https://youtu.be/n47s4rgcQ5Q
  20. I hate to say it but I'd be worried too . I've never built a modern Triumph but that doesn't look right to me . Are those liners fully seated ? They're not resting on a bed of Hylomar are they ?

    Running on 3

  22. Imagine getting stuck in a lift with Kevin and accidentally mentioning that you rode motorbikes .
  23. E10 fuel will only cause sensor failure if you drive past a 5G phone mast more than four times a week without having your car roof insulated free of charge while under the influence of a vaccine invented in three weeks to control people's minds into thinking that Brexit is still a great idea despite the fact that there's f**k all in the shops .
  24. I mentioned them once but I think I got away with it .
  25. Is the swarf magnetic or non magnetic ? Whatever it is I really wouldn't worry about it . Just stick some Wilko 20 50 Mineral Oil for " Older vehicles " in it and carry on . Do you think the guy in India carrying his family , two dogs and a cage full of chickens is worried by a bit of swarf ?
