Having slid along the road accompanied by a shower of sparks and a GS850 for at least 50 yards and got up without a scratch , I think I'll give riding on ice in the dark a miss .

Well I have dropped you the odd subtle hint in the past . If you were thinking of selling it would take all the stress and uncertainty out of the equation .

I'm going to clean every inch of mine and put it up for sale in the Spring . Then I'm going to search for a 1450 FXDX Dynaglide Sport that hasn't been buggered around with .

Admin commenting on Admin ? I'm confused . Tell me Kevin isn't getting paid to trot out this tripe .

Harley Davidson have been a hugely successful nostalgia brand since the 70's .

Interestingly , my Father , who briefly owned a Bantam told me it stood for Bloody Sore Arse .

Virago 535 and Metzeler ME888 Marathon Ultra mixing

I had a great uncle who was in the Battle of the Somme . We rarely saw him though because even in the 1960s when I was a kid he would go into another room and close the door . We were told that he had Shell Shock but from what I now know of the battle , that brief description hardly covers what these men must have seen and endured . And to still be suffering 40 years later dosen't bear thinking about .

I honestly don't think it's going to make a heap of difference on a 535 Virago . I wouldn't mind seeing a picture of the bike though . There aren't too many around these days . -
I couldn't do it . I just couldn't do it .

Never had one but they are highly regarded in the ER5 community .

Did you open the link I sent ?

I don't think CCA is much of an issue on a four cylinder bike . On a Harley it's everything though .

Where did you get that idea from ?

Would you choose some narcissistic , empty headed , bimbo who would keep showing off and falling off their bike , or would you choose the lady on the right ?

Perhaps I'm looking at this from a Asperger's perspective but I can't imagine anything more awkward than teaming up with a complete stranger on such a trip . What if they turn out to be a complete ar*ehole but you only find out when it's too late ?

I'm trying to work out whether this is autocorrect or sarcasm .

Well , it's interesting that you say that . I've bought loads of stuff direct from China such as my ER5 Clock Casing , Carb Repair kits and loads of other bits and bobs and I have never paid a penny in import VAT . This is because Chinese suppliers , mainly from the city of Guangzhou , post the items direct to your door . On the occasion when I tried to save a few quid by buying some Kawasaki piston rings from Japan , I got hammered for £26 Import VAT including an admin fee . This is because the Japanese supplier used the national postal service who have an agreement with Parcel force who carry out the UK leg of the journey . So I think it all depends on whether the items pass through the greedy hands of Parcel Force and their partners in crime the HMRC .

I thought you said you rebuilt the engine .

According to a FB friend there's a good eight inches of snow in Dudley whereas thirty miles away in Coventry we've had nothing but a brief flurry early this morning .
