  1. Making progress .
  2. If anyone has a good Polish deli nearby , I heartily recommend these more exotic variations on the Jaffa Cake .
  3. What's your favourite biscuit ?
  4. I can't get enough of this at the moment . It's just so intriguing to listen to Charlie Watts doing what he loves rather than the "Work" that he did with the Rolling Stones .
  5. I think this topic ends here .
  6. It doesn't matter really . Just replace both halves . https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4pc-kit-2-pin-way-car-waterproof-electrical-connectors-plug-with-wire-/112233499255?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0
  7. The fact that I've never heard of it might be a clue . I'll do a little research .
  8. It's very very far gone . It would cost far more to restore than anyone would ever get back for it . I like the challenge of restoring bikes that have seen better days but there is very little of use left there . Stick it on a Hipster / Cafe Racer FB page and ask a grand for it .
  9. I thought I'd try something a little more advanced next . A Tamiya 1/48 Beaufighter .
  10. The spring will be fine . It's not there to exert a lot of force . If the spring ceases to be effective then the cam chain should have been replaced ages ago . Having said that , I did fit a manual tensioner to my last ER5 just for a laugh .
  11. That's the one ! It's amazing how inadequate the small amount of torque feels but that's the way it is .
  12. Going through my photos again .
  13. That's very nice indeed but I feel duty bound to inform you that you appear to be in a carpark .
  14. I have never seen anything like that either and I cannot even offer a theory about how that could happen . Once maybe, but you are saying that this has happened repeatedly . There are no forces that I can visualize that would do this except maybe something being done wrong when the plugs are being fitted .
  15. Well worth a read ..https://www.wearyourvoicemag.com/christmas-pagan-roots-winter-holiday/
  16. Run them through the bars . That's what a lot of Sportster riders do on Bobbers .
  17. In a godforsaken , fly blown , scorching wilderness so grim that all the inhabitants , excluding the midgets , have abandoned the buildings to the cruel sun .... etc etc etc
  18. I used to make exploding amunition by gluing the domed portion of a match head to the nose of each pellet . Looks great in the dark .
  19. For no reason at all the thought came to me to start making plastic model kits again . Rather than buy expensive and super accurate Japanese kits , I decided to buy some very cheap kits from former Soviet Bloc countries . The smaller ones are reasonably accurate representations of a Mig 15 and a Mig 17 . The bigger one seems to have been designed from memory .
  20. Take it easy , progress at your own pace . Riding often is probably going to be more beneficial than riding far to begin with . Make sure you are in the right frame of mind and if nothing is going right just turn around and go home . There's always another day .
  21. I think the most unbalanced , lumbering , roaring , ugly four cylinder bike I ever had was my GSX1100 . And that's what attracted me to it .
  22. Here you go , take yer pick . They all look the same to me .
  23. I had better luck with the weather a couple of months ago . Although it was a little way back from the road , this was still technically a lay-by in the traditional sense of the phrase .
  24. I must agree with some of the earlier comments . It doesn't matter how efficient these modern takes on the UJM * are , you have still got to have some sort of emotional connection with your motorbike . * UJM , Universal Japanese Motorbike , a phrase from the 70,s when the main difference between the top bikes from the big four Japanese manufacturers was the name on the tank .
  25. It all looks different now but I've ridden straight into this farmyard in the dark .
