Start with the CBT and decide your future path from there. You may be satisfied with a 125 in the short term, you may not fancy the idea at all.

Outrageous photo I wanted to share. The road is normally open on 1st may, but not this year, record snow fall over winter has caused delays due to 30 feet of snow to be shifted in many places.Already looking forward to revisiting with the gang, September 2022!!

Chinese won't be happy.... Longest pedestrian bridge in the world
Gerontious replied to husoi's topic in General Chat
its not the Chinese that might be upset by the new record holder, its the Swiss. -
cancel mine before they self cancel, 99% of the time, automatically, without thinking,. so, effectively they are mostly redundant.

Is your Tyre Plugger the best?
Gerontious replied to raesewell's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
Stop & Go. It forces an oversized mushroom into and through the puncture hoie by compressing it. once through the puncture the underside of the mushroom is pulled against the inside wall of the tyre and seals it. Air pressure and the normal bumps and knocks of road riding then only force the mushroom tighter against the inner tyre wall. The stalk of the mushroom is about double the size of the puncture hole and fills it completely. No glue. it takes longer to reinflate the tyre than it does to repair it. -

system I use doesn't use glue or anything sticky. -
Its the best mechanical throttle lock you can buy, with an innovative on/off push button design. when you consider after market cruise controls cost in excess of £600 and usually involve major surgery to install, the price begins to look a lot better. you get what you pay for.

Im a bit too tight fisted to pay good money for something that might knock a minute off the time it takes to lube my chain... currently a 3 minute job and it only takes that long because as well as lubricating the chain Im also examining it as I go along - which to my mind is equally important.

Is your Tyre Plugger the best?

no need to take the tyre off. I’ve done more than a few repairs to my tyres over the years and never had a plug fail. The tyre only came off when it was due a replace. Obviously the usual caveats apply: The puncture needs to be suitable for a repair in position on the tyre and actual size of the hole. If it falls outside those constraints then the tyre will need to be replaced anyway. -
I’m afraid to use my helmet camera....

21st century problems eh... such a dilemma. -
ive used nothing but paraffin (for cleaning) since day one of ownership and the chain is still perfect. no rust. no stiff links all rollers 'roll'. If it is the case that paraffin may seep through the seals then that is more likely to be a problem with manufacture or a specific manufacturer. e.g. RK. who are as far as I can tell the only manufacturer that specifically states that Paraffin (kerosene) should not be used on their chains as it reacts with the particular material they use. It should be obvious however that using paraffin is very popular and it would be very common to see, therefore. complaints about grease dilution/leakage on virtually every thread about chain maintenance regardless of where its posted. it isn't. here is a snip from the RK website.. (USA) Contrast that with the instructions on the rear of a D.I.D. chain box.. which specifically recommends Kerosene as a cleaner. .

When you buy a DID chain - this is what they recommend on the back of the box.

The CBT followed by an unlimited amount of time (in 2 year chunks) on L plates should have been ditched years ago. We are, or rather were, unique in the EU with such an arrangement. rest of the EU, the CBT is merely a precursor to allow on the road lessons followed by the test.

I never got on with the Tigers. too top heavy for my taste.. especially with a full tank. It was how they cornered - no. I am taller than you and never felt like I was sitting on a bike... it felt more like being perched (almost precariously) on top of it. a distinctly odd and unsettling feeling. and this without any luggage or a pillion. I'm not alone in that opinion, though it is admittedly a minority view. I think test riding is a must. Its never nice when you sink money into a bike and then rapidly conclude "this isn't for me". .

No. (unless you are wiling to tell a few little fibs.) but... Given current circumstances your question is effectively meaningless. 1. you need the original receipt.** 2. warranty claims can only be made through the original supplier. (in Germany) personally, I wouldn't worry about the warranty - if the price is right. Rukka is generally very well made, with cutting edge materials... and the part thats most likely to go wrong.. if you are very unlucky. is the Goretex. and the warranty for that is 'eternal' and dealt with by Gore themselves - direct. I would be happy buying 2nd hand. Rukka. with the usual provisos that everything works as it should. if the price is right. And the price would have to be good, very good to tempt me to spend a large fraction of the brand new price for something that doesn't really come with the usual 5 year warranty. The high price of Rukka is as much about their 5 year warranty as it is about the design, materials and very high skills of the people who actually make them and then the people who check their work before they are packed. "New - with tags" is much the same as buying 'grey market'. I did that for my jacket a very long time ago.. I made a bet that the savings outweighed the loss of warranty - that I would more than likely never need, and I was lucky. Mine was top of the range and I saved about 30% buying from the grey market.. a 'non official dealer'. ** Im pretty sure the 5yr warranty depends on registering the garment within a certain period of purchase, .

For me, fit is everything. Once I found a brand (rather than a specific helmet) that fitted me perfectly and ticked my own particular boxes. I’ve stuck with that brand. I don’t have either the time or patience to look elsewhere or try on multiple helmets either in a shop or buying ‘on spec’ online. Now, it’s easy. I need a new helmet, I just go online - see what’s available from my preferred brand and order it at the lowest price I can find. I have tried on random helmets, usually when killing time at the dealership, but I’ve never been tempted to buy and that’s mainly due to the ‘fit’ feeling a bit off or the colourway being rather more than my simple tastes can stand. Plain white or nothing.

Weather is totally messed up and has been for years. One years sample is absolutely worthless.

Because: Reasons. which is an inane answer. but then these conspiracy theories are even more inane.

I already have a COVID passport. Half completed. To be finished on 20th of April. It’s the card I was given when I had the first vaccination back in February. The fact I’ve had the vaccination is also now on my medical records. So, it can either be the card. Or on completion I could pop along to my GP surgery and they could issue a certificate. It’s neither complicated or particularly onerous to sort out. No need for an App. Why make it difficult? Or restricted to people with smart phones?

The width is the largest part.. the battery is lying on its back. Its just a tad wider than tall.. and just over 2.5" from front to back. The OEM price was outrageous.. but now you can buy a direct replacement for just over £100. and i fully expect that price to tumble further, as this type of battery becomes the norm.. bear in mind, the very first fully mobile phones ran on lead/acid batteries. lithum was developed to the current point to be safe, small and reliable. Nobody thinks twice about have one in their pocket.. or charging on their bedside table at night.

When i bought my bike a replacement battery was nearly £600 and there was only the OEM available. A lot of money for a battery that was only 4" wide and just a box with a series of phone batteries inside. Fortunately the battery makers saw an opportunity and now, happily there are alternatives. But the OEM still costs £470. The "Made in Japan" mark adds a lot of tax!! When I first had a look at it I was amazed, both by the size and weight, light as a feather. Its tiny. Not much bigger than 2 packets of cigarettes stuck together. Ive been lucky with mine so far.. completely problem free. I expect to get 8+ years from it. Seems to be completely unaffected by the weather.. cold or heat. Ive not needed to buy a battery minder for it yet. I'm in no rush.
