  1. Strange! .. According to the Post Office IDP checker No International Driving Permit is required for Spain, France or Portugal! .. You should also only need one! Currently yes. After 31/12 this is what gov.uk says: "Driving You may need extra documents from 1 January 2021. You might need an international driving permit (IDP) to drive in some countries. If you’re taking your own vehicle, you might also need a ‘green card’ or valid proof of insurance and a GB sticker." https://www.gov.uk/visit-europe-1-january-2021 https://www.gov.uk/guidance/driving-in-the-eu-after-brexit in other words our clueless government are as crap at predicting the future as internet experts. i think nothing will change.. nothing that is noticeable anyway for anyone travelling to the EU on holiday. because of Northern Ireland. the UK governement may not care very much about agreements and international law. but the EU definitely does.
  2. I expect there to be no change at all.
  3. Have you looked at either the Pyramid plastics or the Puig huggers.. they are generally the brands that produce huggers before others get in on the act and usually just copy them. Pyramid will answer any questions about fitment you might have.
  4. Start with first principles. what do you consider 'affordable"? what is your realistic budget... also bear in mind the cost of insurance. secondly. what do you intend doing with the bike. what is its primary purpose going to be?
  5. No. Its just Monday in the Covid wastelands.
  6. you're welcome.. and your answer above really sums up why its not a bike i would consider. Back at the start of september i did a smidge under 3,600 miles over 14 days. and that involved a 500 mile ride to get to where i wanted to 'start from'. 220+ miles from here to the tunnel.. and then another 280 miles through the Covid ravaged Wastelands.. to somewhere i could actually stop for a coffee. the idea of doing that on a RE. hence my use of the word: Masochism. I never snigger at peoples choices. if an RE suits you (or anyone) then thats just fine by me. I guess the name of the bike is appropriate though... theres little need for motorway speeds in the Himalayas. Does the KKH have a speed limit?
  7. no. and probably just about adequate. if you're a masochist.
  8. It's probably left outside in all weathers with no protection or cover over it, any bike would suffer the same in those circumstances or... it got wet once and the owner thought it would be alright in the morning.
  9. Every month for the past 18 or so years i have had one of these pop through my letterbox.. or a variation of. this is this months... im not offended.. i just drop it in the bin. but open it up and its full of threats. the 1970s were a simpler time.
  10. Yes, like a quarantine zone Sign me up... this could be biggererer than Facebook.

  12. I’ve always opened my visor and never had a problem. If the pin lock is correct for the visor and fitted properly then it should create a watertight seal. That’s a necessary side effect of its primary function.
  13. Twice since 1980, but only once since 1981. First was youthful inexperience, gravel on a roundabout. And the second was at Mummelsee when the German pensioner pulled out in front of me and I had no alternative but to cause €10,000 worth of damage to his car. I was kind though and turned down the offer of allowing the polizei to prosecute him for attempted murder. They were really quite keen on the idea.
  14. Coleman fluid is naptha. so is any decent panelwipe. same thing. im surpised you dont use a similar product in the laboratory.
  15. Its not a boot its a Schooner.
  16. Im sure you'll make a lovely couple.
  17. Ah... priorities. Mine would be a 5 year warranty on everything aside from consumables. And no... the shock absorbers and forks are not consumables.
  18. what sort of bollochy (thats genuine scots - pardon my multinational language skills) what sort of bollochy thread is this? so.. xtreme is buying a G650. OK. that is borderline 'mildly surprising'. right.. now moving on. note to self: ensure notifications are disabled for this thread as its almost complete bollochs. and in the wrong section. and overloaded with pathetic Gifs. and comments from himself.
  19. Cameras in Germany face both ways. I have had a fine from Germany and the photos that were included left no doubt that it was me. The quality of the image was stunning. Permanent cameras have in recent years changed in design, they now look like this. with 3 pairs of cameras at different levels. and older designs are being replaced where possible. If you see a camera that looks similar, but is BLUE. this is not a speed camera but is involved in collecting tolls from HGVs and so on.
  20. No. the jacket. just No. to repeat. No. but, i guess its the perfect choice for a contrarian. so there is that.
