    Modern stuff

Are you like my mates mum? She has them stored in her phone. Mr Chip, and Mr Pin. You would have to be a rocket scientist to figure out her crafty plan.

What a nice guy. It sounds like the garage owner is a bit of an arse.
  3. Don't worry. It's soon Christmas and all the socialising and hosting of family that brings.
  4. The best thing you can do is chain of to something solid. Otherwise they can just put it into a van. When you chain it to something. Try to use the shortest chain run possible. Or wrap it round the wheel, or frame a few times. If it's left on the floor with slack. It makes it far easier to cut.

    Bad CBT experience

Definitely not a great start. But unfortunately I have heard this before. He should have spent more time with you going through the basics. It was obvious you would need more instruction than the others. Instructors are under more pressure now to fit more training into the CBT. You can understand why some take a short cut. I would probably see if there was another school nearby you could try, like mentioned above. Someone on here also mentioned before about perhaps booking a couple of hours of one to one training on a geared bike before doing the CBT again. Don't let it out you off.
  6. The S22 is more of a sporty tyre. If it was the tyre fitted from the factory. It could be way different to the S22 you buy from a tyre dealer. OEM tyres are always a gamble. And nearly always worse than aftermarket fitment. To be honest that's not bad what you are getting for those sort of bikes at the moment. It would depend on the price difference for me if it was worth the upgrade.
  7. What do you mean?
  8. I never found FS 365 that good to be honest. It seemed to wash off in harsh conditions. Would probably work well if you were cleaning the bike. Then spraying it for the winter. ACF50 is good. But need a bit of work to do right.
  9. Very nice. It's just a shame the weather will be getting worse now.
  10. My dad had a mk1 and 2 Granada. Great cars with a lovely V6 engine. They are small now. But even the new flat 500 is bigger than an original range rover. There was also a thing a while ago about the coaches with rabbit ear mirrors that create a massive blind spot at junctions.
  11. Yeah you will come across some right idiots at times. In the past couple of weeks I've had a car overtaking me near the top of a railway bridge. It is double white lines and 30 limit as only two vehicles wide. The car that suddenly appeared coming the other way was not happy. And the crazy thing is, a few hundred yards on it was a two lane carriageway on our side. If he had just wanted 30 seconds more. The other was a crazy guy in a new mustang. I was following a car in front leaving a good distance as the road was wet. It's a 30mph road and the mustang flies past me. Pulling in behind the car in front. What he didn't overtake both of us I will never know. Then for the next couple of miles, he was falling back. Then accelerating hard, then braking at the last minute, before starting all over again. After a couple of miles of this the car in front pulled over into the bus lane to let him past. Sometimes that's the best option.
  12. It's the PAIR system. If the exhaust has been changed. It probably won't fit anymore.
  13. Yes that's right. Because there speed limit is over thirty miles an hour. That's why we can't do our testing on the road like we used to. One mile an hour over! I remember reading about it at the time. Bloody ridicules.
  14. If it looks like a fish. Smells like a fish. It's very fishy.
  15. Probably for the best then. At least you have something to look forward to.

    Hi Everyone

    Welcome to the forum Joe.
  17. My cousin did The same after having a couple of bikes stolen. They still got his blade from the garage. Even with his car parked in front of it. You can only do so much. But out of sight is The best option. The latest thing I've heard about is air tags. A couple of people I know have had them fitted to their bikes at some of the bike venues in the south.
  18. That's good they will fix them now. I know they were originally charging to replace them. Unlike BMW who never admitted liability over the dropped valves, which destroyed engines on early RR models. Just quietly updated the parts.
  19. That sucks. Isn't that one of the models that suffers from the cam issues? My mate brought the 390 duke a few years ago. Loved it, but couldn't live with the constant problems either. It's a real shame. He won't buy another.
  20. We will soon find out.
  21. It's hard to say from the picture. But it looks like the leather is delaminating to me. I've never had that on Alpinestars before. But I did on a pair of RST boots.
  22. Unfortunately no security is 100% safe. There is always a work around. When the HISS system first came out, it was state of the art security. But that was decades ago. Advanced in technology make it easier than ever to take vehicles. The criminal element will always find a way to use technology to their advantage. That's why the new high powered battery angle grinders make it easy to cut chains off in seconds. And things like disc locks don't deter them. They just cut the disc either side of the lock.
  23. Good luck with the new purchase. Some of the Harleys you see have so little mileage, it's almost like a new bike. I just haven't got a clue what all the letters mean. So I couldn't possibly help. All I can say is someone at work has just brought the 750 Harley. But I wouldn't consider that.
  24. It really just is practice and patience. Don't feel you have to rush anything. It will put pressure on yourself. With a small bike, or especially a scooter. The rear brake will over power the engine. So even with the throttle full on. It would still stop. A couple of one to one sessions should see you good to go.
  25. When someone did the steering lock on a bike I had as a project. They had picked the handlebar so far round. The metal pin had jammed the steering. I just removed the lock barrel. Smoothed the damage out, and fixed the wiring. Then fitted the barrel again. If the key turns smoothly to the lock position. Which the bars turned. It might be fine.
