I'm not oppose to protecting the environment and we should all do our bit, I really get annoyed though at some of the Hypocrisy, as an example, someone I work with and live near, I don't know him that well but I know he went to one of the demonstrations in London for saving the planet. Him and his wife live in a detached house heated by gas central heating, they have two cars and an old diesel motorhome, they also have a coal fire that you see belching smoke out in the winter and regularly have garden fires burning rubbish, when we get hot spells, I drive past and see their sprinkler pumping away in the front garden, how can people profess to be true greenies, blockade roads and hold traffic up, which I would argue causes more pollution, but all they do it talk the talk and don't follow through themselves with positive actions a lot of them are just full of talk and BS

So Theresa May has pushed through her net zero emissions bill by 2050, I was reading broadly what this means, getting rid of petrol and diesel vehicles, getting rid of gas and oil boilers to heat homes, planting more trees, investing in solar and wind energy, the problem is I can't see anything about how all this will be funded?? I read today that Ice cream vans could be banned from parks because using the whippy machine means they have to keep the engine running and this is having a negative impact on the environment .... Is the UK going bonkers? Cutting greenhouse gases requires a global effort not just from the UK. I was talking to a D Day veteran on the D Day memorial parade, he said that the UK is becoming the laughing stock of the world, I wonder why?? On holiday last year we were friendly with an American couple who described the UK as the tax capital of the world!! Where are we heading too, our country is a shambles.... No problem here on the Isle of Man although I did hear of a German that had his bike knicked in Liverpool waiting to come over for the TT. I was also talking to a friend in Cumbria who said bike crime and theft is on the increase up there as well. Its everywhere, bikes are seen as an easy target.

It just shows how quickly things can go wrong over here through no fault of your own, I glad both me and him were switched on enough to do the right thing at the right time, not sure if it was skill, instinct or just blind luck

From the look of the way he was positioned he appeared to have forgot which side of the road he was supposed to be on, just goes to show, never take any road for granted at this time of year on this island, we were both probably doing no more than 30 or 40 MPH, still would have been a terminal impact of 60 to 80, its certainly gonna hurt....

Speaking as a former soldier I wouldn't want scum bags like that watching my back in a fire fight, but I would love to see them seriously pay for the utter and total disrespect they've shown for the soldiers who gave their lives, enabling them to crawl on their low life bellies in apparent freedom.

Perfect end to this week for me!! Approaching this bend this afternoon, Begoade Road, back road from Creg Ny Ba, on my way home, when I was confronted by a German bike, rider and pillion on the wrong side of the road, there was probably only a few inches in it, very nearly a head on and far to close for comfort, just to end the week of nicely!!
