  1. My mate had this fitted, it seems pretty good, some sort of insurance with it as well if they can't find your bike, not sure of the ins and outs but my mate reckons its pretty good, he also gets an insurance discount http://www.tracker.co.uk/for-your-vehicle/motorcycle-tracking/
  2. I'll be interested to see if you find a solution to this problem, I was just about to buy the same unit to fit into my Shoei GT Air helmet, I'm going to hang fire now, if you fix the problem please post and let me know.
  3. Same boiler as us and we had the same problem, guy that came out found a leaking pipe under the floor board going to one of the radiators
  4. Did you have any issue with leaks? Was showing these to a mate at work, he bought similar ones and ended up binning them after one winter due to them not being water tight
  5. I like the look of these but I want to fit them onto the crash bars and thought they looked just a little bit to big, a lot more expensive as well
  6. Has anyone fitted these to their bikes? If so what do you think, are they worth the money? http://www.bikenation.co.uk/denali-dm-micro-single-intensity-led-lighting-kit-with-full-wiring-harness-m8-mount-dentt-dm
  7. Got to agree with onesea, ruck sacks can cause some nasty injuries, get a tail or tank bag, much safer
  8. Yes I agree with what you're saying, I will still probably wear sun glasses on the sunny days .... If we ever get any
  9. Just bought a Shoei GT Air, best helmet i've ever invested in for both comfort, and fit, designed to take a communications system as well .... bonus.
  10. Try a Givi case, used to work fine for me, easy to put on and take off
  11. Yes I mix the two, I wear a Rukka Nivala jacket and Dainese leather jeans, combination works well, don't know why but I never liked the textile trousers, never found a pair that felt like they gave the same protection as leather.
  12. Bought this helmet to replace an Array that I dropped, had never owned a Shoei before so this was a suck it and see exercise, bought online from SBS, item arrived well packaged and delivery only took a day, always iffy about buying helmets online but from experience know that SBS will exchange them with no quibble and no hassle. Helmet comes with chin curtain, nose guard (breath deflector), helmet bag and pinlock insert, from the minute I took it out of the box I was impressed, oozes quality and looks really good in the matt black colour. Firstly the fit: It fit perfectly, probably one of the most comfortable helmets I have ever owned, it feels like I could ride a lot of miles in this one without getting headaches or forehead pain, the padding is excellent and feels like it will give a lot of protection, it gets a sharp star rating of 3. Next noise reduction, worn it for the first time on the road today, noticeably quieter than my Arai, hardly any wind noise at all, I was very surprised at how quiet it actually was when the visor was fully closed. The interior lining of the helmet can be removed for washing and is made from soft anti microbial material, had a go at removing the liner today and can report that it is pretty easy to remove and reinstall into the helmet. The helmet has vents on the chin guard and on the top and rear, never tried them when I was out, kept them closed as it was bloody freezing today! They look pretty functional though and again very easy to operate, had the chin vent open and the visor remained clear, so seemed to do its job ok. The helmet comes with a drop down sun visor, looks ok but haven't tried in in the sun yet, I personally think it may not come far enough down, for this reason I'd give it a good rather than perfect, its easy to operate though, even with gloved hands. The helmet visor is a little stiff to operate, however I'm presuming its because the helmet is new, it'll probably loosen up a bit in time. One thing that is going to be an absolute godsend for me it the fact that it is designed specifically for the sena 10u intercom system, this system his supposed to be pretty good, albeit not cheap, will be getting one before my trip abroad later this year so will let everyone know how it fairs, and also how easy it is to install into the helmet. All in all, thus far, I think this helmet is brilliant, one of the best I've owned, not cheap but you get what you pay for, would definitely recommend it for the touring / sport touring rider, I don't think you could ask for a better, more comfortable all rounder, I give it five stars.
  13. Got a reply from pinlock, this is what they said: Thank you for contacting Pinlock and using our products. See it as a caution of precaution. The reason we say daytime use only is because at night there is a change the Pinlock lens could cause an annoying effect. This is a slightly offset double image. This can be really dangerous. It is always your own choice to drive with the Pinlock lens at night or not. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.
  14. Thats the reason they fog, you have to fit them right, make sure the rubber gasket is in contact with the visor all the way round, clean the visor first, its worth taking the time and trouble to put them on right, I had the same problem once, pinlock fitted and still misting, a friend took it of and re-stalled it for me "did it properly" no more problems after that.
  15. Contacted pinlock myself, just to see what they said, didn't get a reply! That always speaks volumes to me.....
  16. Had the same problem last year, used rain x anti fog to clean, worked wonders.
  17. Thanks guys, I'd never noticed it before and used pinlock on my last helmet, used at night as well with no problem, this was the first time I'd noticed the warning in big red letters, I was thinking if I have to take it out when the weather is bad or it starts to get dark then its just going to be a pain in the proverbial, bearing in mind its usually when the weather is bad that the visor mists up! Sort of defeats the purpose .... Going to stick it in and use it as normal.
  18. New helmet came with a pinlock insert, never noticed this before, I have used them previously, but it says day time use only ...... Does anyone know why? Its a clear insert so didn't think it was a problem, used them at night on other helmets.
  19. New helmet arrived really fast delivery from SBS as always, well impressed, got to be one of the best helmets I've had, really comfortable and a great fit, will review it after I've been out on the bike for a spin to see what its like when in use
  20. Yes you can, you can pay an extra premium to take out cover for the helmet and leathers / riding gear, it was a bit costly when I looked at it ...... in hindsight though ...... not half as costly as new helmet
  21. I was in the same boat as you, I went with the iPhone 8, personal choice really, I know some people who hate IOS, the 8 ticks all the boxes for me, links in nicely to my sat nav and also my helmet intercom, I'm used to using Apple so find the interface really easy to work with, quite intuitive, I would recommend going to the local shop and comparing the phones, have an idea of exactly what you want them to do and see what each one has to offer.
  22. Ordered a new helmet from the guys at SBS (1st rate shop by the way) i've gone for the Shoie GT air, looks like it will serve my purposes very nicely, will give an update when it arrives.
